Rented a full sized vehicle from this location. Upon pick up, they did not have the vehicle I reserved and stated I would need to take an electric car or a different lesser class of vehicle. I politely explained I had ordered a full sized vehicle, to which the associate responded “if you don’t like it, leave”. He then went on to tell me I should feel fortunate as they had to cancel 30 rentals for the day. Stay away from this place if you need a car. You’ll either get the wrong car with an attitude to go along with it or you will have your order cancelled last minute. Beware!

Terrible customer service at this location.The Palisade I rented is wobbly in the back when I ride on the expressway, but I can deal with that. It’s a nice SUV for sure.However, I extended my rental a few days and the same day, the car wouldn’t start because of low temperatures outside. That directly means the battery is bad and doesn’t have the strength to crank the engine. I called this morning and was told I would have to contact roadside assistance and they don’t know how much they’d charge for that. What? Why would I be charged for their car not being up to par? He then asked me “what do you want me to do about it, come fix it?” I said “yes.” He said they don’t do that. I asked if that’s how they treat their customers and his response was that I should’ve purchased roadside assistance.I will never use Avis again. The battery in the car I was rented is bad and I’m expected to pay them to assist me with their bad product. Unbelievable!

Avis is not reliable and you should not count on them. On Dec 12, I made a reservation for a Camry or similar at the Lakeview location for Dec 24-26. When I arrived to pick up the car, the garage was COMPLETELY EMPTY. People at the desk said they had no cars (empty garage... I believed them) and they had a long list of other people in the same situation. They said "Avis" didn't send them the cars they should have but the 'why' doesn't matter. Why in the world would you make a reservation with them when they can just not hold up their side of the agreement -- without any kind of compensation to you and no punishment or consequence to them? An airline couldn't get away with this, why can car rental companies?

I understand it was the day before Thanksgiving, but I had rented a car for a 9am pickup, several weeks in advance, and was not happy to be told it would be 3-4 hours later than my reservation before a car would be available. Not only that, I was treated with extreme rudeness by the location person (manager?) who acted like it was unreasonable for me to expect a car to be available and that there were 50 people ahead of me. Apparently I should have been grateful that it wasn't 51 people ahead of me. Finally, he mocked me to another employee, to my face, when I objected to being assigned a huge pickup truck. "He wants something more than four wheels and a steering wheel." I won't use this location again and won't use Avis again if there is another choice.Should be zero stars.

I rented a Kia soul and when I got there all they had was a Chevy suburban..I spent more on gas than I did for the rental. For some reason they made it sound like I was lucky to get a free upgrade..like why tf would I want a car for nearly 8 people when there were 2 of us. When in doubt just take Amtrak if it’s an option.

This is the third rental I've gotten from this office. I have yet to be disappointed. As with previous vehicles, the car I received was clean, well appointed, and fuel efficient. Kudos to the staff here who are always professional and pleasant. This time around they even helped me find the sunglasses I left behind when I dropped off the car. I know I'll rent from here again.
