Excellent selection of premium pet food and toys. I love shopping here for exciting catnip items for my cat, I can always count on them for a great selection of high-quality toys (made with natural materials) which don't fall apart immediately after getting home!

Not allot of treat options or leashes and collars but the people are super helpful and food options abound! Really like this place. Wish they had MORE because I would happily buy MORE!

Our pup loves this store! The staff is hit or miss —there’s definitely one person there who cares greatly about pets and professionalism, and then there’s at least one that just sits and gossips on the phone, ignoring you until it’s time to pay. But the products are always great!

Customer service has declined. Today I went to the store just before closing, I told the associate that it will take 1 minute - which it did- & the associate told mei only have only 3 minutes. She didn’t offer to help me and in the end she even made me to flip the open sign to close while we were in the middle of our transaction.This has not been the 1st time. Same associate-another day, she didn’t even want to find the price of an item I was about to purchase.

Hello,I’m so grateful for the staff at Bentleys on Wells. The manager and Marilyn certainly care about the neighbors.For the last several months Marilyn has been so conscientious taking the time to bring my items to my vehicle and always asking how I’m feeling. She’s aware I need surgery for a meniscus tear. She states, “I won’t let you limp into the store” in which I am so grateful for.Keep on the good work work and thank you Marilyn for your sincere kindness.

This place is a little pricey, for the staffing, not trying to assist you, when you come in, I came here to buy a small coat for my dog, that cost me, $62.00 taxes included.... there were a woman standing around doing nothing, I thought that she was a customer, and not once, did she ask me, could she help me, l was so annoyed of her behavior that I started to walk out, she was more concerned about going on her vacation then trying to assist the customers

Dear Lisa, Hello! This email serves to present my recommendation for your employee J.R. to be the new store manager of Southport. I am a longtime customer of your grand operations, first beginning with the LaSalle location, now shopping between Desplaines and Wells. THE REASON for my allegiance to Bentley's is J.R. I know not his last name, but I know a beautiful human and employee when I see one. And J.R. is la crème de la crème! He represents Bentley's as though he is the owner. I watch the manner in which he interacts with customers, with dogs, and with fellow employees. He is phenomenal. It all began almost four years ago when my dear dog Gwendolyn needed four 32-ounce goat milks weekly to comply with her holistic health plan to manage cancer. J.R. worked above and beyond to ensure fulfillment of my orders. And my little Gwendolyn loved to scream at him for treats, interrupting other customers to do so; and J.R. handled this very demanding little dog with sophistication and love, all whilst properly tending to the customers who were first in queue! I had not seen J.R. in quite some time (so happy that Chetara came into our lives during J.R.'s work at your other stores). And then one day recently, it was like magic! He had returned and remembered everything about my Gwendolyn. Sadly she had gone to heaven in April, and he replied, "I am so sorry. She was the bossiest dog in River North." Oh! How he made me so happy to reminisce of my girl. And of course, I am now the mother to Gwendolyn's clone. Her name is Claudette, and when J.R. met her last week, he exclaimed, "Woa! Did you hire Dr. Frankenstein to make this happen?" It was hysterical. Attached is a picture from last night, of J.R. treating my Claudette. I understand that he applied for the managerial position at Southport, and the decision has yet to be made. In my opinion, there is no decision but yes. He is the best fit for the job. I shall leave a Yelp and Google review with this information as well. Thank you so much for sharing J.R. with your customers. Rest assured, my Claudette and I shall adventure to Southport if J.R. receives this well earned promotion. Oh so gratefully, Nicole Marie Story

I love this place. Great selection for my furry 10 year old German Shepherd child; snacks and toy selection. Staff is so welcoming and they are great at helping make suggestions for your pet. This store upon entering may look dog focused, but they do have a great assortment for the purr babies as well. If you're looking for high quality food, treats and toys for your child this is the place to be.
