“They make the Impossible Possible. Extremely Knowledgeable and Friendly. Easily accessable location with Free street parking in front. They have the parts and knowledge to fix all your problems. I took my bike here to have a newly purchased Crank Set installed (unfortunately not purchased here, it was a Christmas Gift). They were quick to notice the manufacturer did not include the Hollow Bearing Bottom Bracket. They proceeded to work with me by offering to sell me one, or wait until the manufacturer shipped the missing one that should have been included. They were also able to swap out my rims for the New Carbon SuperTeam Rims I got for Christmas. Which was not as simple as one may think considering they required valve extensions. The first Bike Shop I went to (closer to home) told me they couldn't do it.

“If you need a cargo bike, this is the place to go if you are even remotely proximate to Chicago. The staff is incredible and prices are fair (some accessories/components are even below MSRP). Their customer service is the best in the city, not just in the LBS sphere, but for any customer facing business. I've bought bikes from multiple local bike shops in Chicago and elsewhere, and Offbeat is by far the most pleasant. You won't get a hint of superiority or aloofness from the staff at Offbeat, which can be common in other bike shops.”

“Communication 5/5 - they text you any time they have a question about the bike, whether you want to okay an expense, and when it's time to pick it up.
Friendly 5/5 - They knew my face by the second service! I've also asked really easy, borderline embarrassing, questions and they always go into a thorough explanation without any of the condescension.
Timing 5/5 - they are really fast! They get to my bike anywhere from under 12 hours, and up to 72 hours.
Flexibility 5/5 - whenever I can't pick up my bike, they're really nice about waiting for me

“I came to Boulevard Bikes with ideas on fixing my own bike. They were approachable, encouraging, helpful, and supplied me with parts and advice on how to go about it. It worked out great, but I had an additional issue and took it in for a look. They diagnosed the problem on the spot, and fixed it for a great price (and even suggested a cheaper overhaul of a part I thought might need to be replaced). Heck, they even hooked me up with a dab of grease, when that was all I needed. Will definitely go back for my bike needs.”

“Had a flat in my tire and it was past sunset and already dark out. Luckily I remembered this shop nearby and decided to get it fixed there. The shop stayed open past their closing time and waited for me to bring my bike in order to get it fixed. Happy to have it fixed and they made my night. Would definitely recommend this shop for their customer service and expertise.”

“My son and I came to the shop to get a few things that he needed service on his bike, walking in we were greeted by a nice older couple. , once the man seen how bad my son needed his bike fixed. He went right to work on it, we waited like 20mins & within those minutes we enjoyed conversations with the wife, the time went by fast and the service was great. They helped out with both inter tupe tire and he replace a front tire , a new chain and a seat , the over all experience was great fast and enjoyable. We will be returning if we need any bike service done 10/10 ?”
“I use John’s Hardware whenever I need to purchase tools and supplies. I purchased a used bike and the customer service was rather subpar. After I was finally informed that my bike was ready I tested it and realized the wheels were not aligned properly. I will continue purchasing tools and supplies as needed. Anything related to bicycle’s I’m going to find another bike shop.”
“Owner & single mechanic know how to fix any bike. Worth fixing.They also usually have used bikes & new ones at a fair, low prices. They honor what they Over the last 20+ years, I’ve been happy with several bikes purchased from the owner.. Exotic parts and cheap, unfixable, and poorly assembled Internet or Walmart junk shouldn’t be brought in here, nor ANY shop. Need a flat repaired immediately in Summers busy season please learn how easy you can do it yourself if the two guys don’t time if they’re repairing bikes already in shop promised for another day.”

“What to do when you try to assemble the e bike yourself, misplace the instructions, and seem to be missing a couple of parts? Call Carmen! He instructed me to bring the bike in, he'd look it over, and provide an estimate. He did, I did not think the quote was outrageous, so I left the bike in his capable hands. He said it would be ready the next day, but called a couple hours later and said it was ready! When I got there, he and his helper provided info about the electric assist and general bike care. They helped me place the bike on my rack (it is a bit heavier than my hybrid). I went home and tried the bike, and was well pleased with their work. Basically, these are nice people who do good work!”
“I had a flat mid ride and was close enough to walk to this shop. When I walked in they were welcoming and understood the situation immediately. They took my bike back immediately and replaced the tube. Before I left they checked the shifting and lubed the chain as well. Awesome staff!”

I went to Lakeshore Bike to see if they could help and a gentleman was so kind to look at it and fix it for me right there on the spot for free.
