Not a safe place for children. Current supervisor makes excuses for negligent staff.
Most of the employees I have encountered have been responsible and professional. They are the ones who get the stars.
There are absolutely criminally negligent staff members who leave a child less than 8 alone. As in, class is over, your adult isn't here, not my problem, good bye negligent. The child could've left the building and not been seen again. The child could've been picked up by people with nefarious intentions. The child was left crying and lost until they were noticed by other children and a staff member. The parent retrieved their child 10 minutes after class ended due to a mix up and was shocked. If you mix uo class times you expect a phone call to pick up your child, or your child waiting with an adult worker who will correct you for next time, not a child in bits after having a panic from being alone.
What did the Park Supervisor have to say? "Mistakes happen."
Yes, there will be more conversations.
I just think other parents should be aware of the lack of proper safety measures in place if they are choosing to leave their child unsupervised.
Mistakes do happen and so do tragedies. If you are made aware of a problem you should take action to make amends, take accountability, and prevent future issues. This place currently lacks accountability.
Talk to your children to prepare them for these kinds of happenings just in case. Being caught off guard traumatic.

Asked for help at the front desk and was immediately told I could not be helped before I can explain what I was there for. Manager likes to talk down to people and complained that the place was a shelter now.

I went here once as a little boy. I loved it. This was back in like 1995 or something. They had summer jobs but you had to sign up ahead of time. I went when it was too late so i didnt get the job but i still came to play basketball and hangout. I have not been here in years but im sure this is still a good place to be. Especially for young kids to keep them off the streets.

I went to the Armory for a comics expo on the weekend. It's a nice venue for hosting events. Seems to be a well kept up building, hosting lots of activities.

I just went here to vote. It's not a park. It's an old armory building run by the Park District.

I am in the Senior program. The summer day program for kids is ran by militant thugs. I have been harassed by one of the counselors. The manager of the Armory refuse to deal with them. These thugs are agressive and organized. The management team that are responsible for their actions are corrupt!Such as the park district with all the complaints!

This armory has been rendered powerless by the Coronavirus. It's almost completely shut down.
