I called 3 times to confirm that the price of cutting my dog's nails was going to be $20.00. I arrived at my appointment on time. It took them 30 min to scan my dog's records in. Then they ushered my dog and i into a "bird" room because, according to the vet, she only has one dog room, which was being used. I reminded her that I had been waiting for an hour and had other things to do with my day. She "excused" away my wait time stating that the times "vary." (I bet if I was 15 min late to my appt they would have canceled it)! Then I was told that I would have to pay $75.00 for an initial full eval because my dog was new to the clinic. (Isn't that what medical records are for)? Then the receptionist said that it would be an extra $20 to have my dog's nails clipped. The vet immediately said, "well, no. The 1st nail clipping is free. He (pointing to the receptionist) is just a receptionist. I'm the owner of this establishment." You do not have to be that rude to your staff who are there to assist you. You can barely run the clinic as is; try running it without the little help you currently have. I only gave 2 stars because of the receptionist, Eli who was professional and as helpful as he could be. He gave my dog water. The other front desk woman couldn't care less if she was being helpful or not. I try to promote Black owned businesses in the community but my dog and I had to walkout after hearing the vet speak to her staff so rudely and having wasting an hour of my life without so much as an apology for the inconvenience. I went to PetSmart in the South Loop and received awesome, prompt, and professional service...nail clippings and buffing for $19.99, ask for Eva. And it only took Eva 10 min to enter my dog's shot records and that's with the computer having some freezing issues. Back on the hunt for a professional vet, whenever I may need one. But here's a tip: You can get your dog's and cat's annual shots at some Petco's (not PetSmart) in/around the city for a fraction of the price the vet's charge. You just have to find the event on their website and go BEFORE your pet's shots are due. Literally all required shots for less than $100. Did I say I won't be coming back to this vet?

I’m very disappointed in this vet. I called this clinic because my senior dog was veryIll. I knew it was time to have her euthanized. I made an appointment for euthanasia assessment and went into the clinic heartbroken but understanding that myDog was old and not doing well. This vet came in and wanted to run all sorts of testing saying it may just be a virus and said “she might have might have a year of life left in her”. I started thinking she’s a vet maybe she’s right , she ran tests , gave my dog fluids, charged me $403.00 and sent me on my way. My dog could barely walk and I knew as soon as I walked out the door that she’d taken advantage of my emotional state. I felt horrible,, my dog had a miserable weekend and ended up being euthanized at a different animal hospital the following Tuesday. People please don’t allow this person to take advantage of your emotional state. In a money grab she allowed my dog to suffer over the weekend and told me”at least you had more time with her”. Those were her exact words .For those with a complaint against this clinic please contact the BBB and file a formal complaint at Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.

I been coming here for years and never had a bad experience like i did this morning. First of all they didn't open on time. Secondly the receptionist had an attitude like he didn't want to be there. Next i made a appointment a month ago to have my cat spayed, i was given a total of 300.00. I get there this morning things were so unorganized. They adding a extra 436.00 dollars for shot they she already had.The print out the veterinarian gave me for the spayed said 250.00 but she kept saying say its 350.00 to 450.00. She really couldn't explain why i had a total for 730.00The receptionist kept telling me something different from what the veterinarian said, and when i asked why they keep saying different things. The veterinarian explained that the receptionist don't know cause she is only a receptionist. But it was ok for the receptionist to explain everything until i had concerns about the prices. The veterinarian say the reason the price was told wrong to me when i made the appointment is she was out sick and the person who made the appointment didn't understand and gave me wrong information. Very frustrating, so i took my cat and went somewhere else. I can't believe that i been coming here for six years and the service was horrible. If you can't the serve the community correctly then please take your business somewhere else.

First off— they are extremely short staffed. This was my first time there, and I wasn’t necessarily expecting it, but they were communicative while I was there. Despite that, they’re still showing up! They handled all the appointments with a plethora of different species in the hour I was there with care (dogs, hamsters, birds, cats, etc). It’s a small office and they work hard. I’m sure they’d not only appreciate the business from our community but patience and understanding as well. Thanks so much for taking thorough care of my beardie! I’ll be back in two weeks.

Ohhhh myyyy Godddd where do I begin?! Firstly I had a really hard time finding a vet that would even see my Neo (Frilled Dragon) Everyone said the same thing "we take lizards just not that kind". It was extremely discouraging. I was about to drive my baby 1.5hr outside of the city when I found the Bronzeville Animal clinic which is only 15mins away from me. And bout am I happy I did! My little baby had been lethargic, not eating, laying around in the same spot (wouldn't move unless I physically moved her" for a little less than a month. I took her to the doc, she assessed Neo, gave me homework and Neo vitamins and food that we thought I'd have to force feed. Turns out my picky eater really loves the taste and happily gobbled it up. ONE day later, my baby is running around the cage, inquisitive, chasing things, energetic...omgsh I'm so happy I could cry!!!! I was so worried and she turned my baby around fast. Thank you soooo much!!!!UPDATE: my baby went back to being lethargic and is not doing good, I took her to Chicago exotics and they did blood work which was not done at the Bronzeville animal clinic. Dr. Gil did a visual physical examination. Chicago Exotics found her electrolytes were all off amongst everything and now I have to put her down. She had kidney failure. I was told if the first vet had done blood work she could’ve been saved. This is not to bash Dr. Gil who I think was amazing. This is just to say make sure u seek a second opinion. I do feel that if blood work was done initially she could’ve been saved. Now it’s too late and she’s suffering

I brought my cat here during covid to be neutered and due to covid I had to drop him off and leave for the procedure. Everything was extremely rushed and I was given little information beyond telling me I would receive a call to pick him up. However I trusted the clinic. Instead I received a call that my healthy kitten had passed away due to anaesthesia. The doctor tried to explain how this made sense based on what his ears looked like and how he may have possibly been a certain breed that has heart problems, very loose logic. It caused me heartbreak and regret for years and I felt that his death was treated as a normal consequence of his surgery. I was never informed of any risks, I never met personally with the doctor due to covid procedures and I wasn't aware that him passing away that day was possible. I certainly do not believe that it was likely but the doctor made a point to tell me so, I imagine to wash their hands of it. It is a shame that I would love to bring my new cat to my local vet but I am too traumatised to return.

Made a very inappropriate comment about my puppy when I communicated we would need to come back to tomorrow due to financial circumstances. Instead of communicating to the owners how serious she feels the condition may be and offering us solutions. She says in a very rude tone “ better hope the puppy doesn’t go blind”. The worst customer service I have ever witnessed. Taking my three pets to a different vet thats more accommodating, understanding and offers actual solutions. I gave them by business for 2 years with 3 pets but that was the last straw.

Have bee going here a few years. Dr Gil is very nice and has always called back if I have questions. Once I was pressed for time and needed a vaccine for the boarder her staff drove to another vet to get it for me.

I took my dog there for year & they were very nonchalant about her care. my dog is an elder dog & they were supposedly taking blood work. I was in the room when the vet drew blood from her, in front of me one vet visit. I now switched vets & the new vet took blood work and showed she was at stage 4 kidney failure. if bronzeville would have done their part I would switch her diet a year ago.
