I was very pleased with the product selection and service I received at Carnegie Sargent's Pharmacy and Health Care. I needed a walker or rollator, and Mark showed me a variety of them already assembled in the store. He ran through the benefits of each of the different models, and helped me to choose the perfect one. I cannot thank him enough for this attention to service. My rollator has made every day living so much easier.

Yikes, I just had such a negative experience with this place and immediately came to the reviews to find everyone else saying the same thing about how horrible Mark is. Truly the worst customer service experience I've ever had with a pharmacy, rude condescending and purposefully trying to make you feel lesser than. I wonder how many reviews it will take for him to realize this is no way to run a business, or treat any human in general.

Mark provided great advice and support for a sore throat which I have picked up on my travels. He was also incredibly honest when I gave more cash than I realised and made sure I received the correct change. Incredibly nice, thanks Mark.

I recently purchased a walking cane and needed help adjusting the height. Mr. Paley was very patient and thoroughly explained what to do. I highly recommend this pharmacy not only for the products but also for the expert advice.

I stopped by Carnegie Sargent Pharmacy after leaving my dentist. Mark was very helpful to me in suggesting items I could use after having my tooth extracted. I was well please for the time and effort that Mark showed me. He took his time in explaining choices I could use to follow my dentist's orders. If I need any pharmaceuticals or any dental-related items, I will not fail to get Mark's advice.Thank you, Mark.

Quick disclaimer: I have NEVER written a bad review - for anything - in my life. But I just had the worst customer experience of my life thanks to Mark. I see a bunch of comments below so allow me to shed some light on who the real "bully " is here. Mark offered to help me find a medication that is hard to find and out of stock EVERYWHERE. It's on backorder. I thought I appreciated this level or service that you can't get from the big chains. We spoke a few times over the ~10-14 days he was monitoring the distributors' inventory on my behalf. Worth noting it was so far an unsuccessful search, roughly 14 days with no results. Not his fault though, he can't just make the drug himself. Just today, I found an out-of-state pharmacy that had the medication in stock... a miracle! (I only had about a week or so left to get this medication before I would have to go back down to the bottom of the dosage ladder, a BIG waste of time and money). I had the pharmacy call Mark to have the prescription transferred, only to get a call back from said pharmacy that he would not send it, was very rude, and told the other pharmacist to "roll that in his pipe and smoke it" as he hung up on them. This other pharmacist has been in business 18 years and said he has never heard anything like it. Surely there must have been a misunderstanding. I call Mark myself to have him send the script. No dice. The entire call I was yelled at, interrupted, and called names. That's right, words that you might say to another person to get them to fight you. He told me to "slow down there big guy..." (he's never met me) and called me a "pompous a$$hole" twice. You read that right. A "pompous a$$hole. For what exactly? Finally locating the drug I need? For taking care of myself? If you're thinking to yourself, "there is no way this is the whole story, you must have done SOMETHING to him," trust me, I didn't and it is. When he was done yelling, I asked him if I could speak for 30 seconds. He screamed "NO WHY WOULD I LET YOU TALK!!" and hung up on me. I was going to tell him I really needed to fill this script (he already knew that) and luckily, I found someone who has it. I was going to tell him I will happily use him again for future scripts of the medication when there is more time to order. I was going to tell him I appreciated his offer to help me look for the drug, but surely, he understood I had to get it filled SOMEWHERE, right? Surely he knew it was not personal, right? I mean it's just a prescription, it's not like I was dating his wife, right? I mean let's keep our feet squarely on planet earth here... Apparently, he understands none of that. That 2-3 minute one way conversation was a very "bizarro world-like" where nothing makes sense. Even after a few hours of thought I do not understand it. Mark has absolutely ZERO concept of reality. Does he talk to like this to people's faces? Anyone can have a bad customer experience at almost any business, but looking at all these comments, it's almost as if he likes it. It's like he gets off on it. Why would ANYONE patronize his business ever again? STEER CLEAR FROM THIS BUSINESS - LET THIS PSYCHOPATH ABUSE SOMEONE ELSE Now, on to look for the exact eCFR code he violated by refusing to transfer my script so I can put a more formal citation on his business...

Visiting from out of town and called every pharmacy/medical supply company in the area and they either didn't answer the phone or could not help. This was the only place that truly helped us. Made sure he had exactly what we needed and was very kind.

I recently moved to Chicago and I was looking for a new pharmacy. I called Mark to discuss availability of a medication in his store. I received a similar response to many of the prior reviews, however, I simply took Mark’s response as being thorough and not at all being rude. Over the next few days I spoke with Mark multiple times on the phone. He was VERY easy to get in touch with compared to my prior experiences with pharmacies (he placed me on hold one time for roughly 20 seconds and was apologetic for the ‘long wait’). He was clear (And seems to be very consistent) as to what documentation he requires and he was extremely helpful in obtaining information from my doctors office. During our phone calls we even had multiple discussions about how much he thought I was going to love Chicago and he began giving me recommendations for his favorite places in the city. Once he received the documentation/info that he clearly stated to me he needed from the beginning, he VERY quickly (within minutes) filled my prescription. When I met Mark in person he was even more personable than he was over the phone. I highly recommended this pharmacy.

This is the first negative review I have ever written on google and I've written a multitude of positive ones but I've never had a worse 1 minute interaction with any sort of customer service.I just moved to Chicago and was looking to find a new pharmacy to send my prescriptions to. I called just to ask two questions 1) If they had the drug I needed in stock 2) If they WOULD be able to tell me how much it would cost for a month's supply. I was interrupted throughout both questions just to tell me that if my previous provider didn't explain regulations well enough to me that he is not to blame. I proceeded to say that I was not upset at all but just wanted to ask questions to get the full picture. He angrily told me that he has gotten hundreds of calls like this and that "he isn't to blame" if I don't know the regulations.I am not writing this review just to express my frustration but to let everyone know that I called 4 different pharmacies after and received full information on the exact cost of drugs I needed and all available stock. I don't know what these regulations are that he wasn't able to share the information I needed but I was able to get all the info I needed from places like Costco, CVS, Krogers without any further questions.To whoever I spoke to, I understand it may be difficult repeating yourself to customers but we are all just calling to ask questions we don't know answers to. Thousands of pharmacists are answering calls answering the exact same questions and are able to fully help happily.Believe the rest of the reviews on here and choose your pharmacy wisely!Edit: Seeing the rest of the comments on here, no one is bullying you Mark, this is GOOGLE REVIEWS where we REVIEW your service. I don't believe online bullies would target you for no reason or false experiences, no one has the time.

The man that runs this pharmacy is the most rude condescending idiot on the planet. I bought a pair of compression knee hi socks from him. He said I needed to be measured (I didn't) he charged me $40 dollars to measure me. The socks rolled down immediately. I returned them. He told me he couldn't give me my money back even though it states on the sales receipt "all returns in form of store credit ". Today I went in to ask him if he had heard from the manufacturer. He told me that they said once the package was opened the socks are not returnable. But I said they don't don't stay up! How would I know they don't work unless i open the package and try them on?? He said he didn't like my tone and told me to leave his store and never come back. So not only is he condescending lunatic he is a thief!! Stay away!

Mark berated my wife, threatened to call security on her when she asked for assistance buying a product for a family member that was in desperate need of it. When I called and asked him about, he explained his position (I appreciated his rationale...as convoluted and absurd as it was), but when I politely tried to continue the conversation, he told me never to shop there and hung up on me. Wow. Never do business with this person. Read the other reviews.Response to Mark: Read the room Mark. Look at all the 1-star reviews. If you don't have the self-reflection to understand the problem is you, and not everyone else...that's on you.

Mark is literally the worst customer service representative I have ever encountered. He is incredibly rude and disrespectful. Considering that he is providing a medical service you would think he would have an ounce of compassion. I would rather drive miles away for my prescription before I give this place my business.

Mark,for the last time, because I have to give another review to confront you, because you can’t help but respond and refused to acknowledge your faults, regardless of what you told me. it is the same exact thing of me asking a pharmacy if they do flu shots so if I called to ask if your pharmacy does flu shots, you need a letter from my doctor to ask you that question?? the point of a matter was regardless you were extremely disrespectful. If you politely explained to me, I cannot answer your question because of this this and that then I would’ve been more excepting, but you did not politely explain to me anything you quickly try to rush me off the phone more than one occasion you would not answer any of my questions and you were rude and disrespectful from the start. and this is not social media this is not Facebook this is a professional review from customers which any customer is allowed to do things like this happen when you provide bad service, it is called a REVIEW not bullying. It’s constructional criticism better that I say it or customer saying than your manager says it to you. I was not disrespectful or mean to you in any way you are a grown man do not be so sensitive. there is a very big problem when you disrespect a customer and you are rude and you cannot politely just acknowledge it and say I’m sorry for the way that I said it I’m sorry for the way that I came off and politely explain yourself. but instead fight with everyone you canstop bullying your customers or my next review will be to the better business bureau

I think that this person is mentally ill.. clearly there is something wrong with him. He is extremely disrespectful to everyone for absolutely no reason I was extremely nice extremely polite and he was just rude from the start. Nasty from the start. I have no idea how in the world he is running a business or how anyone would even be funding him. I’ve never been disrespected, so bad in my life by any business let alone business owner. I will be contacting human health services and reporting this behavior. Type whatever you want Mark, I’m surprised that you have time to aggressively respond to reviews while you are so stressed working when I called you said you had three other people on the line but yet you have time to respond to your reviews and be angry.
