When working with the Account Manager teams at Chicago Brass I was treated to high-level service and engagement. Highly recommend!!I’ve had projects in both their home Chicago market as well as their satellite Minneapolis market. In both showroom locations I was met with highly detailed and knowledgable team members who seemed to genuinely care about the outcome of my projects. Not only did they provide complementary take-offs from the blueprints to give solid estimates for the projects but they also drove out to the job site once construction began to field-measure and work with the general contractors on the project in advance of the hardware being needed for installation. They kept notes about the timelines for the project and were proactive about getting necessary details and information needed to put the hardware into production. It blew my mind how many thoughtful questions they asked I wouldn’t have even considered! To top it off, they box and label the order with notes about exactly what is included in the box and exactly where it should be installed on the project. My contractors absolutely loved this detail as it made their jobs much easier and avoided the headache of sorting out the hardware figuring out which doors they should be installed on.Chicago Brass offered niche hardware lines I couldn’t find elsewhere, plus rhey do cabinet hardware, too! I found some really tasteful cabinet hardware pieces for my clients’ built-in and free-standing cabinet and furniture pieces that really helped tie together all the finishing touches & details of the projects.Cannot recommend their services highly enough!

I often go out of my way to shop local. This time, however, it was much more of a headache than it was worth. And so I'm not burying the lead here, the reason for the 2-star rating was poor, almost passive aggressive communication from their sales team throughout the entire process.I purchased approximately $1,700 worth of door knobs and deadbolts. The deadbolts, however, were incorrectly ordered by the Chicago Brass team and were nowhere close to the specs that I shared with them. Mistakes happen. But their response or lack thereof when they were notified is what I didn't appreciate.First, there was no apology along the lines of "Sorry we didn't get the order correct." That would have been nice given the price point and the fact that I was dealing with actual people and not a faceless online shopping cart. After that, I got several non-responses to my e-mails asking how I should go about returning the deadbolts. Mind you, this radio silence was over the course of a week; I wasn't expecting same day service. When I finally got the shipping labels for the return, I sent the deadbolts back. They reached their Chicago warehouse the next day. I waited patiently for 10 or so days for the return to process but still didn't see the refund on my credit card. It would've been nice to be clued into their return policy deadlines, but they apparently don't provide that information so I was winging it. I had to call the showroom after these 10 or so days to inquire about the refund and it was clear that it wasn't waiting for any processing--they'd just forgotten about it.TLDR: I can't imagine being a designer and having to work with Chicago Brass on any sort of project that had a timeline. I don't think they could pull it together and be anywhere close to meeting it.

This company does not stand by there return policy. Unfortunately they are not willing to be flexible. I wouldn't go back.

Bought about $3,500.00 worth of hardware about a month ago from Chicago Brass and made a 50% advance payment using a cc. Now the hardware has arrived so wanted to pay the remaining balance (50%) using the same cc and pick up the hardware -- my sales rep Carlos tells me they have a 3% up charge policy for any order over $1500 charged to a cc. This was news to me! This policy was never communicated to me in any form, whether in small print, big print, verbally, or is it published on their website. So Boo Chicago brass! You obviously don't see a need to communicate your policies with your customers?? In fact, the "3% up charge" was never charged when I made the 50% advance payment using the same cc. So Chicago Brass, are your policies really that arbitrary? Boo again! I Better make sure my order is full and complete with the right hardware!
