I went to the bank today. We had an issue at another bank and Caroline was so helpful. Not only was she very professional, positive but she was able to fix the issue in a timely manner. There are not many people today that want to go above and beyond, but she definitely did. Not only did she help us but she also followed up with us to make sure everything went smooth. She was very respectful. I greatly appreciate everything she did.

Lazy workers! We went there and they were talking to each other looking very happy. As soon as we walked in, they stopped smiling. Gave us an attitude especially the lady on the right. She didn’t help us with our issue. My husband tried asking her questions regarding his dad’s account and she kept saying she couldn’t give my husband any information with the smirk on her face. We were so frustrated. She turned her face to talk to her coworker as soon as we were on the way out. The place was pretty dead when we got there. There was no other customers except us. I guess no one wants to go there with the bad attitude workers like that.

I've been a member of the CPFCU for 30 years. I co-signed for a student loan for my son, he missed a payment and they reported both of us to the credit bureau, dropped my rating over 100 points. They claim they sent a notice to my son, but to his old address. No notice to me as I would have taken care of it. So I went in about a month ago and paid off his loan and the CPFCU has not closed the account and the credit bureau's records still indicate an open account and a missed payment. Great institution 25-30 years ago, helping coppers and their families. Not so today, maybe they've gotten too big and only care about making $$$$. I am paying off my son's car note this week and ending my relationship with the CPFCU.

Took a signature loan for roughly 11k back in March of 2016 and was signed up for a VOLUNTARY debt protection plan without my consent. This debt protection plan is to cover the payment of your debt in the case of your death...which is pretty stupid. Not only was I signed up for it without my consent, it was the most premium plan they offer. It costs $2.62 per $1000 of your loan a month! So nearly $30 of what I've been paying a month for the past 3 years have been going to a d*** protection plan I didn't sign up for. (The monthly amount is reduced over time of repaying your loan because it's based off loan balance but I'd argue it's still that stupid high amount due to that $30 not actually going towards principal of my loan.) I only discovered I was signed up for this when I was moving and going through my important documents. I canceled it today but I will not be using this credit union again. I thought the whole point of a law enforcement credit union was so we could have a trustworthy financial institution. Nope. I guess I still need to go over all the very fine print because they're willing to even screw over cops

I do not recommend banking with them. After paying off a loan and a credit card (transfered credit from another card), I left the account open with zero balances. Fast forward a couple months and i recieve an email from credit karma stating that my credit report "needs attention." I check my report and see that my credit was given a "derogatory remark" because of a late payment. I check and see that they submited a late payment to the credit report for "a late payment over 30 days." And get this, it was for 4 measly dollars! This is disgusting. 4 dollars! That is ridiculous. I was never informed that i owed any money, never was called, not one email, not one letter in the mail to inform me. I call the bank and find out they charge 4 dollars a month that i was not aware of. I asked them why i was never contacted about this and was given an answer of " i dont know." Thanks chicago patrolmen's for those 4 dollars, you affected my score enough to the point were i have to pay a higher interest rate on a mortgage for my new home. Thank you, you disgusting vultures of a bank
