Cannot thank the staff enough for their care and compassion. It was a sad morning but they helped make the best of what was left for our pup.

Update: This is exactly what I was talking about in my review. They do not listen. Look at the response from MedVet; my review sited I would give them one last try, that I was coming back one last time. MedVet must not have read my review entirely, they wrote me off and havent called or reached out. It's disappointing. I've been a regular client for the past 13 years for both my personal pets, as well as the rescue pets I have fostered.

My dog icing was hit by a car December 25th now remember before I brought her in she was okay just a broken leg she was alert she was just in pain she was scooting on her legs. I brought her in they ran test the doctor explained that icing was going to die she was never going to walk again she constantly repeated that my dog was going to die & I needed to put her down her exact words where “ No matter how much money you spend your dog will not have a chance of ever walking again” I then signed an agreement stating I would like to take my dog Home because I don’t have the funds she also gave her pain medication “fentanyl” I then waited for my dog to come out I waited almost an hour. My dog came out & I was just in total shock my dog was half dead like she was forced to get put down my dog wasn’t moving she wasn’t blinking I feel like no dog mother should ever go through this I had to lay my dog to rest on Christmas the worst thing I ever done.

Finally- doctors you can TRUST! I brought my pug in because he was having urinary complications. Thankfully we live less than 10 minutes away from this facility so we were able to bring my Beefy in and was triaged almost immediately upon entering. Initially a vet had told us that Beefy would have to stay overnight for potential emergency surgery for his issue, but that they would run tests on him and try an alternative for surgery and see if he responded well to it. Beefy did stay overnight, but was so well cared for and responded to treatment that we were able to avoid surgery altogether. Every time I nervously called to check in on him the staff was very understanding and so sweet. I’m beyond grateful for them

I bring my dog there because of his allergic reactions. After he vomiting 4 times within 2 hours. The receptionist very nice and assistance guy too. But after i met the vet, i asked like do you think it because of this, or of that?? And he said "I don't know i don't have a dog". I know not every vet have their own dog, or pet. But at least, he just try to help or explain somethings nicer. This is the worst vet that i never met. Also, her another assistance who give my dog a medicine, she said you have somethings to ask, and when i ask somethings she said i don't know. And just read the prescription exactly on the bottlenof medicine. And she keep an eye for like 5 mins to make sure i make a successful translaction without didn't said any single word. I know that at least the medicine help him to get though that night but i rather find another ER if i have time. But this one is the nearest ER from my house. If you have times just like try to searching ER around you. Don't ever go to this place.

Terrible. Incredibly slow and were rather misleading on the wait time. I was told it would be "just a minute" to finish discharging. It ended up being 2 hours just for them to print some paper work.

We took our furbaby there on Thursday evening after our 16 year old suffered what we believed to be siezure, he has never had one before. We called when we were on our way, to inform ourselves, as to possible cost and what to do, given this was new to us and we were coming from a distance. The guy on the phone wasn't much help, but told us it would be 200.00 automatically just to look at him, not including anything else. We finally arrive, there were 2 very unfriendly, not warm people sitting in the front, we were registered, and in the waiting area there were 3 different families with their furbabies, so we figured shouldn't be too bad of a wait. After 3 hours of sitting there, we asked the female sitting in the front , how much longer, she said we were next up (an older man complaining of sitting there for hours as well with a sick dog and nothing as well) ... Well at the 4th hour of still sitting there, our baby was thirsty, tired and just ansy (they told us in the beginning not to give him any water which is fine, but after 4 hours C'mon) , and we were exhausted, he was stable already, so we left without ever being seen, the older man was still sitting there as well. They showed no compassion, it was actually a very terrible, exhausting experience a waste of trip and time. The following day we took him to another hospital in Fox River, he was seen, had labs, treated, sat with the doctor and sent home with meds and gave us a pill cutter, all for UNDER 300.00 and less than 2 hours total!!! You guys really need to do better with staff , timing, consideration for pet parents, that are nervous and in desperate need of help.. so disappointed with the entire experience there!!!!

I was recommended to Med Vet by my Vet. I had been there 5 years earlier and had a bad experience but my dog was recently diagnosed with cancerous tumor. So I started down the road with Med Vet. The onboarding fee with testing was estimated at $1,500. It is worth noting I already had lab results but med vets wanted to redo them. The estimate for the surgery was $5.000 at the lowest and that covered none of the post op care. Then treatment (chemo) had no official estimate. I went to two other animal hospitals with board carried vets to get second and third opinions. Both came in at a fraction of the price for the exact same care. When I went into med vets to ask them to explain why their prices were 6 to 10 times higher they had zero explanation. "This is what it costs to do this right". Besides the price gouging Med Vets felt cold and like a business. That being said one of the employees there was very kind and seemed to care about my dog and my situation but the rest did not give me that feeling. I appreciate that in a city things cost more but after two experiences there it is clear this hospital is more interested in my credit card number than caring for my dog. Do your homework when picking a vet. Unless it's an emergency I would find a different animal hospital.

I wish I didn't have to write this review, but I do. Our sweet dog very suddenly lost control of his rear legs and became paralyzed literally overnight with no warning signs. He was in considerable pain, and we came to find out he had IVDD and a disc had ruptured in his back which was causing tremendous pain and paralysis. We rushed him into MedVet, and he was seen immediately upon us carrying him in. The diagnosis was swift and upsetting, but we knew he was in the right place. The neurologist on duty ordered an MRI and based on that, our dog was rushed into immediate emergency surgery with a 30% chance of him walking again. Despite potentially awful possibilities that I won't even get into, the surgery was a huge success, and we were able to visit him the next morning. We saw the behind the scenes parts of MedVet, and the facilities and staff are truly world class. The care they give to all the needy animals is beautiful, and I knew our dog was in the best place for what he needed at that moment. They kept him on site for a few more days of rest and observation before we could take him home. Our discharge meeting with a staff member named Roland was intense and very informative. We knew it was a long road to recovery, but we had MedVet fully in our corner for this journey. It was super challenging at times, but with visits for checkups, phone calls for advice, acupuncture, and very intense physical therapy sessions with the amazing staff on site, our sweet dog not only walked again, but he can even run and play like before (but we definitely limit activity per doctor's orders). I am so happy to say he's doing absolutely incredible. If you didn't know he was paralyzed, I don't think you'd suspect a thing. Truly incredible work from Dr Niemann, the physical therapy team, and the entire MedVet staff. There is no place I'd rather take my pet for an emergency than here. At our absolute lowest of lows, MedVet was there for us when we needed them the most. Thank you for giving us a 2nd chance!

My dog visited MedVet several times over the past few weeks after injuring a disc in his neck. Words cannot express the high quality of care he received here at every step in the process. Every single person we encountered treated us with so much kindness and compassion. (They were also amazing putting up with me, the most anxious and paranoid pet parent in all of time.) I am especially thankful to the ER vets and to Dr. Gonzalez for taking such good care of my boy and helping him heal. Thank you, thank you, a thousand times thank you!

My Gizmo was taken care of immediately when we came in. He was having difficulty breathing, very bad cough, and went in -in stress. He was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. The social worker(counselor for me) was awesome. He came in the room twice to check up on me. I was an emotional mess. I was shocked to know my baby's condition. He was given medication. Sadly Gizmo passed away at home a few days later 10/16/23.

Everyone was great during our visit! As to be expected we did wait a long time but the staff checked in on us to make sure we were doing okay. I would absolutely recommend this business!
