The best teacher I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Mr. Suddha Weixler will open your mind's eye, and bring a new perspective to your practice.

I practiced here for roughly ten years and although I've moved on to other studios, I will always have a place in my heart for this studio. Every year great workshops come through from Manju Jois to Srivatsa Ramaswami. I highly recommend taking Suddha's Saturday morning class regardless of what level you are at it will be an enlightening challenge.

I took a workshop at the Chicago Yoga Center with Ramaswami in September. This is just a fantastic place. Everyone is so helpful and supportive. I love going there! . Jai Ram !!!

In the world of yoga there is the phenomenon of lineage; the ancestry of knowledge handed down from teacher to student. There are only a handful of teachers in the world who have studied with the original students of Krishnamacharya and Suddha Weixler of the Chicago Yoga Center is one of those rare students. He is a treasure. I have met many people who profess a deep knowledge of yoga. I have found them lacking in breadth and depth. Suddha is an exception. If you seek knowledge, gift yourself a treat by visiting here.

This has been and always will be my favorite yoga studio. My yoga was born in this studio of authenticity and sincerity and I always return here and am grateful for the center, Suddha and his dear teachers. The classes, workshops are retreats are just the best. Thank you for what you share!

I have done yoga all over the world and in all kinds of studios. The Chicago Yoga Center ranks at the top with some of the most authentic teachers that teach based on years of experience and their studies with the true masters of the practice. In my view, there are teachers that are good teachers because they know how to teach. Then there are teachers that are good teachers because they are masters with deep knowledge, strong spirit and a passion for sharing the wisdom. The teachers at the Chicago Yoga Center are the latter.

It is true, there are many choices for yoga in the city. Chicago Yoga Center is a shinning gem in a field of yoga treasure. Chicago Yoga Center has been my preferred place to learn and practice yoga since 2010. In fact, I drive 60 min each way to attend a single class.

I have been lucky enough to have traveled a lot on our little planet and when my wife brought me to the Chicago Yoga Center 3 years ago I immediately felt at home. Our teacher was and still is Suddha. He and the center have become central to our yoga practice. When I arrived I was welcomed as if I was an old friend and each time I return I feel a little closer to this wonderful group and its practice. The level of yoga teaching is unsurpassed, the kindness of the staff is wholesome and if you do the morning session on Saturday please make time for brunch afterwards. That is always fun. I highly recommend this yoga studio as one of the best in which I have ever practiced.

Never going here again. Waited half an hour in freezing negative degree weather for the 10 am yoga class. No one was there to buzz us in. Patricia showed up late and was rude, unapologetic and unprofessional. Save your money and go to yoga elsewhere. Would leave negative stars if I could.

Yoga is supposed to be a welcoming practice, but unfortunately that's not the case with The Chicago Yoga Center. I can't speak for all their teachers but their Sunday morning Ashtanga teacher, Patricia, was flippant at best. She showed up late, which happens, but wasn't apologetic at all and took on an elitist tone with the group I was with. She has definitely left a sour mark on The Chicago Yoga Studio. So much for being welcome to all.

I was there for a morning ashtanga class with Patricia and waited for 20 minutes. She was 6 minutes late in the below freezing weather and was unapologetic and honestly just rude. She didn't apologize or try to offer any excuse why she was late. I wouldn't go here. Definitely not take her class.

I would never recommend this place. I brought three friends to a Sunday morning led primary series class and was highly disappointed. We arrived 30 minutes before class was to begin and the door was locked. We had to stand outside in 8 degree weather (feels like negative 7 with the windchill). We continued to call and buzz the studio with no answer. Five minutes after the class was to begin the teacher drove up. The teacher, Patricia, was very rude. She told us that if we were to take the class then we needed to hurry in because she probably had students upstairs waiting- no students came while we were waiting so I don't even think that was the case. She did not give us any reason why she was late. We wanted to arrive early to allow for plenty of time to sign waivers, get checked in, and time to get centered in class. After meeting Patricia we made the decision that we did not want her teaching us. I am a yoga teacher myself and would never treat customers/students the way she treated us. I was very excited to take a led primary series class and am disappointed about our experience. I have never been to a yoga studio where I felt less welcomed. I am glad we did not give them our business. If I could give them negative stars I would.

I just returned from a weekend yoga retreat in Mundelein with Suddha Weixler, and I feel fantastic! The weekend consisted of meditation, pranayama, restorative yoga, as well as more challenging asanas for those students who thrive on doing headstands. What I love about Suddah's teaching is that he comfortably and easily adjusts the practice to his audience and there is no judgment about individual abilities. I don't have a chance to practice with Suddha very often because I live 4 hours away, but I am never uncomfortable about the fact that I may be a little less experienced or flexible than the other students in the class. Suddha is very knowledgeable about anatomy and his teaching increases my awareness of the benefits of yoga for certain muscle groups or organs (and I feel those muscles and organs very distinctly today! ). He also includes discussions on the history of yoga and spirituality and I learn something new each time. I have attended classes at the Chicago Yoga Center whenever I have been in the city since 2005 and have traveled to exotic locations such as Mexico, Costa Rica, Peru, France, and Croatia with Suddha and other students. Each trip has been a unique, enjoyable yoga experience. Here is my favorite quote from this past weekend with Suddha: “Stillness in body creates stillness in mind, which creates awarenessâ€. THANK YOU, Suddha! Looking forward to the next trip!!
