Beautiful church and very nice congregation. It’s a small community parish with many multigenerational families. I love the priests and find the sermons helpful and inspiring. I hopped around a bit at other Catholic Churches in Chicago when I moved here before finding Shrine of Our Lady of Pompeii. I was struggling to find sermons that I can really take with me into my week at the other parishes I tried. I feel at home here and really appreciate the familial vibe here. Usually easy to find street parking. The church is gorgeous and I can’t wait for the renovations to be complete—I think it will feel like a little jewel box when it’s complete. It was already beautiful before. They did a very nice job with the church hall we are using in the meantime.”
“Absolutely beautiful!!! This church conveys sanctity and reverence to the Lord. You will feel the inner peace and the Presence as soon as you walk in and won't want to leave. The architecture is a testament to the Divine. Confession is always offered 20 minutes prior to every Mass which is a great blessing. The choir and organist perform traditional sacred music that lifts your soul. There is ample free parking. The Priests are devout and reverent. St Mary of the Angels also has religious classes to enhance and depeen your understanding of the faith. Fr Hilary is one of my favorite Priests, a true gem!!!”

“I am a new member joined church on Happy Resurrection Day every one calls Easter. It's all about Jesus for me. My sister I grew up with Bridget Hargrove invited and I felt the spirit get me up, especially after he said if you don't have a church home come join us we are family here. I felt that the first day I stepped in Salems Church. Everyone is so nice kind and caring just sweet. I'm so happy to be apart of the family. Pastor Dates spoke and moved me. He preaches God's Word so beautifully. He makes you understand everything breaking it down and letting us hear what God has told him to teach us. I appreciate him very much. Thank you Father God for blessing us with your Son Dr. Charlie Dates. I love this church I am going through some things and my new church is helping me understand a lot. I give what I can every Sunday. I feel no matter what you have give back to God. I'm not selfish or stingy. I give from my heart with everyone. I miss my mom and dad grew up in the Beverly Hills Morgan Park area and attended Morgan Park highschool Mustang love went to the hoagy shop on 111th and when gramps was there on Longwood st right down the street from our high school, with the corn beed sandwiches the best eateries ever. My opinion ?!!! I just wanted to give The HOUSE OF HOPE SALEM'S BAPTIST CHURCH A SHOUT OUT!! IF U DONT BELONG TO A CHURCH AND WANNA HEAR THE WORD OF GOD PLEASE COME HERE. YOU FEEL SO FULFILLED AND UPLIFTED. GOD'S HOUSE ALWAYS WELCOMES YOU PLEASE COME. AGAIN SO HAPPY I DID”
“Best food pantry. They make sure people have enough food to last for two weeks. However, there is no waiting area, people standing outside in cold, hot, rain and snow. The lines are very long. They don't give people numbers while wait. Bring a chair to sit down and a cart to shop. The security guard is very helpful.”

I've lost 50 pounds, my numbers at my dr appointments are amazing, and I feel so much healthier, physically, and mentally. These classes saved my life. Not only that, it was the best thing to ever happen to me. These classes are so fun, constantly changing up, everyone is so supportive, kind, and loving. You truly are a family, a sisterhood. The two instructors, Michele and Doreen, are a huge part of the reason I keep coming back. Thank you both for pushing us, encouraging us, and cheering us on. Thank you for caring so much - You're the best of the best!”
