whenever I'm in Chicago visiting family I go to my favorite spot Dollar general on armitage it seems the only manager and cashier that can get the line down fast the one with the locs Dominique she moves fast and with a Swift paste and always nice and has fantastic customers very good unlike some of those other cashiers they move very slow when she's in line it goes fast thank God for customer service people like her. Wish I could find someone in my area like that. Dominique you rock.

Worse general store ever, didn’t let me take my little son to the bathroom. Claimed that both bathrooms were out of order but the bathroom door had a sign to ask for the key. Never again will I go spend my money there.

I am giving this 2 stars and not 1 because the employees are always very nice. However, the air conditioning has not worked for at least 2 summers now. As someone sensitive to heat it makes it a nightmare to go in there when it’s hot, and I often do go here because I live across the street. And if I can’t handle the heat for a 10 minute trip, then the employees who work there and have to stand all day are probably suffering even worse. Please do better management and fix the AC

The remodel is great but be prepared to wait in the longest line ever. Massive lines!
Every single time I go there is only one employee at the register. This place is always packed. Hire more people!

The people who work in this store are amazing ! Writing this review to the company, which refuses to fix the air conditioning. These are unjust conditions to work in ! Chicago is supposed to be over 100 these week - the whole store is an oven. Dollar General fix this ASAP for the safety of your workers !…. It’s been weeks and Dollar General has not fixed it’s AC. Food in this store is spoiling, and employees are hot. Dollar General I demand you provide safe working conditions for your employees !

I came in yesterday to get some stuff, and the employee going to stand right next to me and spray febreeze saying it stink like smoke or weed and she used a spray from the shelf to spray and put it right back for a customer to buy used.I don’t recommend anyone coming to this location, if you do they will disrespect you. They need different employees at this location, maybe that way it’ll get better and faster.

The store is alright. Basic dollar store. The only downside is they have their overstock carts blocking items in almost every aisle.

Just walked in and out at 2:22pm. As soon as I walked in and reached for a basket the cashier said to me: “can you leave your backpack up front for me please” I put my basket down and walked out. I don’t need to shop anywhere that racially profiles me. I went to buy detergent pods but I’ll wait to go elsewhere. Terrible service would not recommend. Don’t go if you have a purse either. Can’t trust the cashiers they may steal while they’re worried about customers stealing ?

I know it's a dollar general so I never expect much from this store. There's always line and boxes on the floor. Went looking for a product and when I asked if they had it the management said no. I told her website said you had 2 of them. Then she told me if it's not there we don't have it all from down the store aisle. She didn't even check. Don't expect much from this store.

Good store got everything i want friendly they should have more for diabetes and food and just more and be more respectful and nicer and watch the workers and have diabetes snacks healthy stuff too
