I had a disappointing experience at this Dollar General location today around 2:30 PM. My boyfriend and I were the only customers in line behind one other person, and there were two employees working — a male associate and a female who I believe was the manager.
The male employee was having trouble with his register and called the manager over for help. She assisted briefly, then moved to the other register and told the next person in line (us) to step up. She already seemed visibly frustrated and distracted, and to make things worse, she was on the phone via an earpiece the entire time she was ringing us up — which felt unprofessional and inattentive.
When it came time to pay, there were issues processing the transaction. I made a light comment about the system possibly being slow (since previous employees have mentioned that before), and she sharply responded that they had “new systems,” clearly taking offense to what was meant to be a sympathetic comment.
She had to re-ring our items, which I didn’t mind at all, but she seemed increasingly agitated. As she rushed to bag our items, my boyfriend offered to help to ease the situation. While I was placing drinks in a bag to assist, our hands accidentally collided, and one of my nails unintentionally scratched her.
She immediately and loudly accused me of scratching her on purpose, saying, “Ma’am, you didn’t have to scratch me!” — which left me shocked and confused. It was clearly an accident, and I even apologized. As we were walking out, I heard her talking about it to her coworker as if it were deliberate, so I turned back to clarify that it was an accident. From start to finish, the manager’s behavior was rude, unprofessional, and unacceptable. We were at trying to be helpful, but her attitude and handling of the situation made the entire experience very uncomfortable. I hope this is addressed appropriately.
(I’d like to say I’ve been coming here for over seven years and I have never been treated poorly like this until new management came This past year. There’s a couple of women Are very nice to me at times but other than that things have changed and you can feel the bad vibes walking in)

Dear Management,
I would like to formally express my concern regarding a policy I encountered at your store. Upon entering, the cashier instructed me to leave my backpack by the checkout counter before shopping and to retrieve it only after making a purchase.
As a professional tattoo artist, I carry valuable equipment in my backpack, including a camera and a tablet worth approximately $3,000. Leaving such expensive and essential tools unattended is not an option for me, as it poses a significant risk of theft or damage.
I believe that customers should not be required to compromise the safety of their personal belongings in order to shop. I kindly request that you review this policy and consider implementing a more secure and customer-friendly approach.
Thank you for your understanding and attention to this matter.

I find most of what I need at this fine dollar store. If you bring your own bag, they won't bag it for you. Other than that, they are very nice.

Rude cashier yelled at my child for the bell that she went to reach for. When a parent is right there you address the parent. It was unwarranted for the one ring she did do.

Who's the overgrown SIMP who refused to hire me because he saw me hug his "gf" ???(she's not) No, seriously. He used to seem cool until I met my friend inside and hugged hello, his face went RED. A week passed by before I asked for a job. He said no despite putting up "now hiring" signs ON EVERY OTHER FRIDGE AND AISLE in the store, saying they were "for show"... really? Your back stock and overstock were covering half the entire store at the time...
