Why does this store close at 7pm?! This is Chicago... 7pm is wild, especially when doc stores in Indiana and Ohio close at 8pm and 9pm.

Shopped there last weekend in June. Amaya and Bianca were fantastic. Able to help me figure out sizing, recommended insoles for when neither size was quite right, provided phenomenal customer service.
Only problem? Store was like an oven and all they had was this tiny little standup fan to move hot air around. Those girls must have been MISERABLE (and never let it show even a tiny bit). Their manager needs to get AC units in there so people aren’t rushing out of the store, desperate for a breeze.

Purchased a pair of boots for a bday present and they didn’t fit. I exchanged the boots and customer service kept my receipts. The boots still didn’t fit. Next time going to the store, the customer service representatives wouldn’t do anything without the receipt and said they couldn’t look up my purchase via credit card. We showed them the credit card statement and they didn’t seem to care. They stopped short of telling us we were trying to steal from them. Horrible customer service and would not recommend this location to anyone.

I purchased boots here and got amazing customer service. One of the best retail experiences I have ever had. The people who work here are so nice and knowledgeable about their products.

I came in this weekend with my partner to try on some shoes. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. Karen helped me lace up some thigh high platforms with so much patience. Karen was great in helping me determine the best size as well given I am a true 9.5. They even put in insoles for me to give me the best try on experience. Karen knew all about the variations of leather amongst the shoes to tell me why these boots would work out for me given my past experiences failing to find a thigh high that could accommodate my thick thighs and skinny ankles without slipping down. Love this place!

Was I greeted when I came in store?
Yes
Did the 5-6 staff member standing around the cash wrap leaning and chatting immediately continue their conversation the second I was greeted?
Yes
Did I have to listen to their inane conversation while I shopped when they all didn’t need to be stood behind a cash wrap and could have gone in the back for that?
No
Did they have all styles of Docs like on their website?
No
Did I have to wait for one of them to realize I needed assistance for them to pause conversation?
Yes
Was the girl that helped me helpful?
Yes, she did a good job.
She also tried to upsell with socks and leather treatments.
Did she have her back to me most the time talking to employees who were leaning on the registers?
Yes.
I get it, it’s boring working retail in a small shop, but when the customers are in store it’s time to shush and work.
Save the chat for back of house or lunch breaks or when a customer isn’t in store.
I felt like I was interrupting the staffs conversation by being in store and dropping hundreds of dollars.
HUGE retail no no.
I got what I was shopping for, I tried on the shoes, so yeah 4 stars I guess, terrible experience though and they absolutely don’t need 5-6 people working there on a weekday daytime.
They need to have corporate send someone in to do training on customer experience and what not to do when customers are in store.

Jamie the store manager was absolutely amazing from when I called the store to see if they had the style I was looking for (they did and she put them to the side for me) to treating me like a king on his throne. She made my sale less painful; I bought a new side bag too, so I spent a pretty penny, but I deserved it and she made certain that I am worth it! Overall, it was a great visit and the other employees were just as exceptional. Thank guys! Keep up the good work!

The staff at this location were eminently kind and helpful. I came in on two occasions and interacted with different folks each time. They were all eager to help, and offered tips for wearing and breaking in new Docs for this newbie. I’m so thankful ?

If you are thinking of buying a pair of boots, comfortable, of good quality, that are versatile for any season, find yourself in the right place, Dr. Martens has that and more for your feet, I have always said: Don't skimp on a good mattress and a good pair of shoes” so don't think about it, go for those boots, in any of their stores you will be well cared for, they will look for all the prices they have and you will leave satisfied, ah, shoes that will almost last a lifetime, I have a few ?
