If you enjoy endless email exchanges just to get a clean apartment, this is the perfect place for you.
I moved in two months ago, and after what the manager proudly described as two rounds of cleaning, I was greeted with a filthy microwave, visible stains on drawer handles, grime on the refrigerator and weird sticky residue in the washing machine. When I asked for a professional deep cleaning (or at least reimbursement for one), they simply refused.
The dishwasher story deserves its own paragraph. From day one, it reeked and looked disgusting. Maintenance came twice, and both times their idea of “cleaning” was just running an empty cycle with a cleaning tablet. Unsurprisingly, the smell persisted. When I took out the filter myself, I found mold in the drainage area. What a genuine health hazard.
Their response? “We’ve done all we can.” So they decided to “replace” it with what they claimed was a brand-new dishwasher as a courtesy. I thought this issue can finally be solved and I can finally have a usable dishwasher. Wrong. The “new” dishwasher came with a dirty filter (complete with food debris) and a filthy bottom ring. When I pointed it out, they still insisted it was new and I should clean it myself. Apparently, in this building, “new” means “used by someone else and never cleaned.”
If you’re looking for a place that redefines the meaning of basic hygiene and customer care, look no further.

“The apartment itself is decent, but the garage is a serious problem. First, someone scratched my car. I requested additional surveillance cameras, but no one responsible for the garage responded. Later, someone even broke my window. Very disappointing experience.

The staff are friendly and I love the vibe here. However, the cleaning team is very disappointing. I just got my key yesterday, and when I walked into the apartment the washing machine wasn’t even properly installed, the toilet was dirty, and many other areas clearly needed cleaning. It was obvious the unit hadn’t been properly cleaned or inspected before I moved in.
When I came back today, after the cleaning lady had already done one round of cleaning, the freezer was still gross, the microwave was oily, and there were paint splashes on the floor and handles that hadn’t been cleaned. I hate having to be the one to point out all the dirty spots and repeatedly ask them to come back. The apartment should have been thoroughly checked and cleaned before move-in, and that still hasn’t happened even after a second visit.
I’ve lived in many similar apartments, but this has been the worst move-in experience so far.

Staff is friendly and amenities are decent. Some amenities, namely the kegs of complimentary beverages and bottles of wine, are rarely available and go months at a time before being restocked.
However, the elevators in the building are a major pain point. For extended periods of time, there is only one operational elevator that services 26 floors which causes wait times of 10 minutes. This has caused issues with catching trains, requesting ride shares, and has made me hesitant to invite friends over to the building.

Had a great time visiting my friend but everything took a turn for the worse when I was headed to my car in their garage and I was chased by two strange looking men!! Thank God I made it to my car to pull off in time. I still have flashes of the situation. Their security was even worse!!! I was back the next night to pick up belongings “made sure I parked out front this time “. I asked was he there last night to confirm, he said yes. I proceeded to tell him what happened hoping he could help and I can fell some comfort but his response to me was “ you look alright to me, what’s the problem?” WHATS THE PROBLEM?? He also refused to call police. He is an TITAN EMPLOYEE AND HE NEEDS TO BE FIRED!!! That whole company should be DEFUNDED!!!! All he did was sit and talk with Carlos the janitor all day, thought he was a good guy until he switched to overnight and found out he was USELESS!!!

200 apartments and sometimes only 1 elevator. This morning again I had to wait 10-15 min for the elevator… ridiculous!!!

once you’re a resident you’ll never be able to get ahold of anyone unless you go downstairs in person.

We have lived here for two years. The room is too small. When we were about to move out, we said that the abandoned furniture was put in the garbage dump, because there were many other residents throwing a lot of furniture there. However, the apartment staff told us that we would be fined 300 dollars for throwing it in the garbage dump, and we had never heard of such a thing. It was so strange.

The windows are full of spiders. Couldn't get any help. I was impressed with the apartment, but now I've changed my mind.

Moving into Eleven40 and living there for a few weeks has been very smooth. First of all the building is beautiful and feels new. The views from most of the apartments and from the rooftop amenity area are amazing. The finishes in the apartments are modern and well kept. Staff is friendly and helpful, move in is a breeze and is easy to coordinate. Parking garage in the building is easy to get setup in and works smoothly.
Location is great, with Trader Joes and Jewel within a block, Red, Green and Orange line on the same block and easy access to Lake Shore Drive and 90/94. Tons of restaurants on the same block and within a few blocks.
On the less positive side, being so close to Public transit brings lots of homeless people. The rotating entry door seems to be permanently not working. Small inconveniences for me but might mean more to others.

I toured this building and the property is breathtaking and has so many great amenities. It smelled amazing. It seemed like the person giving me the tour wasn't as interested in helping with my needs and mentioned that they only had one apartment left and asked If I wanted to see it or leave. He mentioned that I would have to move in a month or so earlier. I didn't really feel welcomed and kind of felt like they were just doing me a favor by showing me the single one bedroom they had available. I do understand that they can't help availability but, I just didn't feel welcomed. I also felt like availability could have been communicated to me prior to showing up for my tour. I was bummed that in the floor plan I was shown, there wasn't a separate entrance to the bathroom and walking through the bedroom was the only way to access it. I was afraid to even ask if that was the only floor plan. I was ready to leave. Overall, amazing building in terms of true luxury. Wish the staff was a little more welcoming!

The living experience is okayish. The only problem is the security crew. They basically do nothing and are very very judgmental. They will show their attitude when you ask them to do what they need to do.One lady in the security crew kept me waiting for 2 and a half hours for checking my missing delivery. Another lady call me out for not closing the front gate. Another issue is that most of residents in here are Asian international students, however, they have a double standard when treating white people and Asian. I’ve seen Asian resident posted on social media about the security crew “being super rude and racist.” This is a problem.
