Awful. We traveled all the way from Minneapolis to see Santa land. What a sad disappointment. We got stuck standing in line to see Santa for an hour when we kept telling them we didn’t want to see him and just wanted out. No one would let us out. Store was hot and sparse for goods. Bathrooms were atrocious and window displays left a lot to be desired. An overall disappointment.

Excellent walk around the outside, history, walk around 1st floor, up the escalators, then tour or walnut room.

I was shopping at Macy's State street store on 6/29/22. I spent over $600 dollars. i had to use the restroom and found out that i needed a code to access. Good luck finding someone to give you the code. As a person of a certain age,76, I have less control of my bladders than a younger person. This is the only Macy that I have been to that have this system. I will not return to this store and will be contacting the corporate office.

If you love to shop you have to go shopping at Macy’s! It opens at 10 am. What a beautiful place. I found the people that worked there very friendly - they know a lot of people come to see the ceiling and look at the history and they are very accommodating. A sweet member of the janitorial staff even gave us a history lesson and guided us to where we should take photos inside!

Macy's on State Street is all decorated for holidays. Above the entrance to the store from State Street the department store still shows its old name -- Marshall Field & Company (opened in 1852 in Chicago) -- but of course, now we all know and love it as Macy's. Last time I visited the store was a month ago, right after Thanksgiving, when everything and everybody was getting ready for winter holidays, Christmas and New Year celebrations. The ground floor was beautifully and imaginatively decorated, and it was all shining in festive lights; the accessories and cosmetics department were offering the abundance of items, which we usually buy as holiday gifts. One could get some great bargains, since there were sales going on in full swing. All the associates I saw were wearing masks, most of the customers too, for that matter. And that was probably the only sign that reminded me in the store about the pandemic, since the store was full of visitors, happily shopping for the upcoming holidays! Happy New Year, Macy's on State!
