Please read before giving this location your business.
7/24/25 – I reserved my unit online and immediately followed up with a phone call to confirm the request had been received. The person I spoke with was extremely helpful, and I was under the impression that everything was in order. My rental agreement was set to begin on Sunday, 7/27/25, but I understood the office would be closed that day.
7/25/25 – I visited the office in person to present my photo ID, which is a required step to gain access to the unit.
7/27/25 – Packing took longer than expected, so I adjusted my move-in date to 7/30/25.
7/30/25 – This is when everything fell apart. I arrived at the Extra Space Storage facility shortly before 7:00 PM. My unit had a tag with my first and last name on it, but a green built-in lock was still in place, preventing access. After looking around, I learned another customer was dealing with the exact same issue.
Here’s what I tried:
• Called the number listed on the locker tag – No answer
• Called the facility office – No answer
• Called the Extra Space rep who previously contacted me (shoutout Brandon) – No answer
• Called Extra Space customer service – was met with a robot saying they were “experiencing technical difficulties”
I had already taken half a day off work for this move and now I’m stuck with a full truck I only planned to rent for one day. Who’s going to cover the extra cost? I hope Extra Space Storage takes accountability for this major inconvenience.
Here’s what doesn’t make sense: the office is open from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM, but access to the units is available from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM. So why is no one on call to help outside office hours—especially for issues exactly like this? It’s the end of July, one of the busiest moving periods of the year. You’d think they’d be better prepared.
Time is valuable, and this company completely wasted mine. Do better.
