Came at 8:45 on New Year's Eve. I knew the store closed at 9p due to the holiday: when I got there the wine and spirits section was closed down. I asked why was it closed a young man told me because it's New Year's Eve. I didn't see any information that said the store will be open to 9p but the Wine and spirits section will close at 8:45p. It's literally the main reason customers come into Jewel on New Years Eve. I saw many ppl attempt to go upstairs, but there were employees guarding the stairs and the elevator. You can bet the store lost several thousands of dollars because some employees wanted to leave their job early.

Got completely ignored by 2 employees while asking for help. I asked for help finding some sausages, sparklers, and Topo Chico's. I asked "excuse me could you help me find something?" And both employees stood there disregarding me. Then after giving them some time to finish their conversation I asked again "excuse me could I get some help?" One woman did a quarter turn, looked me in my eye, and then continued her conversation. She was working the checkout #1 at 7:30PM 12/31/23 when I checked out. A Latino worker with black ear gauges helped me find everything I needed. He was awesome and would have brought this review up if it wasn't for the total disregard from the other workers.Happy New Year!

They parade your medications and pamphlets for all people nearby to see---in violation of the HIPAA privacy rule!!! If your friend, neighbor, significant other, coworker, or employer sees your meds, you must sue, as any of these individuals may use that knowledge to treat you in a certain way. eg, if you are taking heart meds, an employer may think you are a risky employee and work to fire you. You can imagine other results of such a data breach that will affect your life and relationships.

The newest renovation of the Jewel Osco at 1225 S. Wabash improved the aesthetics. The produce section is better organized and the quality of the displays and products have been much better than before. The deli section is small but good quality breads. The meat counter is neatly organized and the meats attractively packaged. The dairy and frozen foods sections are essentially the same. The liquor department is condensed with the addition of a temperature controlled wine section.

I am a disabled senior citizen. I ordered much needed medicine on Monday using the app that evidently doesn't work. . I called Friday august 4 and the snotty pharmacy person told me they didn't have the medicine . I asked for a manager they told me the manager wasn't in. What is the problem at this jewel? They told me the medicine would be in Monday. What am I supposed to do?

Dear Jewels Osco ,I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to you today with a heavy heart and a deep sense of concern regarding an issue that has deeply affected me and countless others at your Jewel Osco store located at Roosevelt & Wabash #3345. I feel compelled to bring to your attention the disturbing incidents of racial discrimination and disrespectful behavior that I have personally witnessed and experienced, perpetrated by the Liquor Department Manager, Gidget. As a loyal customer and a brand ambassador for various liquor brands, I have had the opportunity to visit your store on multiple occasions over the last 2-3 months. During my visits, I have conducted in-store demos and interacted with a diverse range of customers. However, I was appalled to witness Gidget's deplorable treatment towards African Americans and other customers from different backgrounds. This behavior not only tarnishes the reputation of your esteemed organization but also undermines the values of equality, respect, and inclusivity that we should all strive to uphold.Racial discrimination is a blight on our society, and it is particularly disheartening to witness it unfold within a place that should be welcoming and inclusive for all. Customers come to your store seeking a pleasant shopping experience, and instead, they are met with prejudice and disrespect. This not only creates a hostile environment but also has the potential to drive away loyal customers and harm your brand's reputation. It is crucial that immediate action is taken to address this matter. I implore you to thoroughly investigate these incidents and take appropriate measures to rectify the situation. The consequences for Gidget's behavior should be swift and just, as it is vital to send a strong message that discrimination and disrespectful conduct will not be tolerated within your organization. In addition to the necessary disciplinary actions, I also urge you to prioritize sensitivity training and diversity education for all employees, especially those in managerial positions. This will help foster a culture of inclusivity, where everyone is treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their race, ethnicity, or background. Furthermore, implementing systems for reporting incidents of discrimination and ensuring accountability will help prevent such incidents from recurring in the future. As someone who is deeply committed to promoting the values of equality and justice, I cannot stress enough the importance of addressing this issue promptly and decisively. I have always held Jewel Osco in high regard, and it is my hope that you will take this matter seriously and demonstrate your commitment to eradicating racial discrimination from within your organization.I kindly request that you keep me informed about the actions taken to address this issue. I believe in the power of change and trust that Jewel Osco will rise above this situation and set an example for other companies to follow.Thank you for your attention to this matter. I have faith in your commitment to rectify the situation and restore the trust of your customers. Should you require any further information or assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.Yours sincerely,Christopher Payne 773-718-8214

Update (06/04/23): they've done away with the stingy bag policy and allow you to put your items in bags while using the self-checkout, before you pay (like most grocery stores do). Great store, great location.

You're gambling if you're choose to drop-off or pick-up from this location. Terrible customer service, apathetic employees.

Waited long for the line at the customer service. I was able to drop one package off but I couldn’t the other one because they don’t print shipping labels for you even though you have the code and everything.

This Jewel is the closest one to my friend Kevin's condo, so it's the one we go to for groceries and stuff. Unlike other parts of the country, this one has a nice beer, wine and liquor section. So we stopped in for some whiskey and fresh flowers for a gathering we had.The parking lot is nice and large....Located about 2 blocks from Michigan Ave and almost across the street from the Roosevelt subway station.
