I attended a wedding here and the food place was a very good venue. The food was great but I wasn't sure if it was catered in or made on site. Service was very good. A wedding I will remember for a long time. The bride and groom came down the fire pole as they entered the reception.

Firehouse Chicago is magical! My husband and I got married here on August 29th, the Friday of Labor day weekend and we had the best day of our lives! We toured a few places a year prior and when we left our tour for Firehouse Chicago, we just knew this must be the place! What stands out about Firehouse Chicago is the people, Sarah and Teddy are wonderful to work with for all your planning needs, which trust me as a type A person, I had so many questions. They approached every question with care and really supported our vision and if our vision changed, they were down for that too! Firehouse Chicago provides a thoughtful vendor list that really made all the wedding planning seamless and our vendors all mentioned how much they love working at Firehouse Chicago! The space itself is perfect. I love plants and being outdoors so having our ceremony in the garden area was truly a dream come true. The Firehouse is so well decorated and furnished so well that you don’t have to do a lot of wedding decor. We loved that space immediately and seeing it full of everyone we love at our wedding was incredible! So to summarize, the venue was perfect, our wedding flowed so well and felt like us, and was the perfect backdrop to celebrate our love story. Sarah, Teddy, Heidi, and Shanna were the BEST to work with. We are truly grateful for the care and attention Firehouse Chicago provided us during the planning process and day of!! Best space, best vendor list, and best vibes for a Chicago wedding! Photos by: Anna Jung-Hwa Photography

I’m not the kind of girl who grew up dreaming about her wedding. But when I found myself engaged to the love of my life, I suddenly wanted to plan the kind of celebration that felt like us.
I’ve lived near Firehouse Chicago since I moved to the city in 2015, and I’ve always thought it looked so charming from the outside. It turns out, the inside - both the venue and the people - is even more magical.
From the very first spreadsheet to the last-minute gin run (yes, they literally said “hand me your card, I’ve got you” and took care of it), Sarah and Teddy went above and beyond in every possible way. Their attention to detail, calm presence, and genuine care made the entire experience so seamless and joyful.
Our families are still raving about the Firehouse team: Sarah, Teddy, MC, Heidi, and Shanna. Every single one of them made us feel like our wedding was the most important one they’ve ever hosted. And based on all the glowing reviews from other couples, I know we’re not alone in feeling that way.
This was truly the wedding of our dreams, for me and my husband. If you’re considering Firehouse Chicago, please take this as your sign: book it. You won’t regret it.

Firehouse Chicago was the perfect place for my 75 person Chicago June wedding. It is intimate, charming, and immediately romantic. Sarah and Teddy were excellent to work with and know exactly what they're doing. You can feel how attached they are to the space, which helps you immediately feel attached to it. My wedding ran so smoothly, and a lot of that is thanks to the Firehouse's crew of folks who both somehow run a tight, organized ship while keeping vibes immaculately relaxed and flexible. Getting ready upstairs all day was the perfect way to ease into the space, appreciate its beauty, and soak in the day as much as possible. Even with grey skies and some pre-ceremony rain, the space was gorgeous, moody, and perfect. Firehouse Chicago is an amazing venue, with an amazing staff, and all I wish I could change was that my day with my husband (eep!), friends, and family was much longer. Thank you Teddy and Sarah!

I've photographed a few weddings at Firehouse Chicago and not only is it a vintage wedding venue gem on the North Side of Chicago, but the staff is stop notch. The perfect venue for an intimate wedding in any season, but when it's green the courtyard and getting ready area transform into a European courtyard feel. Perfection. Consider cooler months too when you want a cozy warm feel for any event.

I cannot say enough good things about the Firehouse and their incredible team. Our wedding was truly a dream come true. Every corner of the Firehouse is full of charm, character, and beauty. But even more memorable than the space itself was the team behind it. Sarah and Teddy and all of the Firehouse team went above and beyond from day one. Their guidance and support throughout the entire planning process was invaluable, especially since both my partner and I were working full time. They made everything feel seamless. We are so grateful for their care, responsiveness, and warmth. You can tell they genuinely care about their couples and treat each wedding with love. My only regret is that since I’m already married I can’t have another wedding at the Firehouse! Maybe a vow renewal in the future. Choosing Firehouse and the Firehouse team was truly one of THE best wedding decisions we made. Thank you Firehouse for making our wedding feel so special <3

My wife and I cannot thank Teddy, Sarah, and the whole staff at Firehouse Chicago enough! They were so professional, prepared, and organized that it made the whole wedding process so seamless. You would be hard pressed to find this level of care and coordination at a different venue. From great recommendations on vendors, to helping coordinate the decor and ceremony on the day of, to everything else in between, we felt taken care of every step of the way.
As for the location itself, the historic firehouse building is beautiful inside and out; original finishes and adorable decor inside along with the fantastic landscaping and gorgeous ivy wall outside made for beautiful photos and memories. Our guests were also thrilled when we entered the reception from the 2nd floor via firepole! Where else do you get to do that?
We would recommend Firehouse Chicago to anyone looking for a gorgeous venue and a phenomenal staff for their wedding or any other special gathering.

Our daughter was thrilled to schedule her marriage and reception at Firehouse Chicago. A date was chosen and the non-refundable deposit paid without hesitation. Sadly, our daughter passed away before her wedding date. I think it speaks volumes that the good people at Firehouse Chicago donated the entire deposit, $4,000 to the Lurie Children's Hospital (one of the charitable causes listed in her obituary). Thank you Firehouse Chicago for your generosity and kindness. I know our daughter and her fiancé would have had an absolutely magnificent event in your very capable hands.

DO NOT consider a winter wedding here, and absolutely DO NOT expect transparency or flexibility with any hiccups in their formula. Also, they apparently blocked my account on Zola — I can’t find them in a search when I’m logged in anymore. Thankfully I was able to leave a review without being logged in, and am also sharing here.
TLDR: they can’t accommodate winter weddings, despite including those months as available on their website, and they aren't transparent about their inability to do so. They can only provide half a venue, with 40% decreased capacity, but still expect you to pay full price. I was appalled by their poor communication and business practices throughout our experience trying to book them for our January wedding.
— —
The issues started when booking a tour — their availability is challenging if you work a day job, and we were also limited with my partner’s 24/48 shifts for the city. But I rearranged my work to accommodate their schedule. The day of the tour we received a vague cancellation with 3 hours notice, saying they would work with our schedules to get a new tour on the calendar. They very much did NOT work with our schedules, declined several options I requested that would work without us making major concessions on our end, and only offered a small window later than their once-a-week evening slots. We were once again rearranging our schedule to work for theirs after their cancellation.
When we finally had the tour, I’ll admit it’s a gorgeous venue. We were excited about booking there, but concerned about how they’d handle January events. Since their website includes Jan in their off-peak season rates, I figured they had a plan for accommodating cold weather (they have a tent for the yard, but it’s insufficient for temps under 30 degrees and that’s a heavy gamble for evenings in January). They didn’t seem to have any ideas outside using that tent.
They do have an upstairs to the venue that reflects the ground floor footprint, so I asked if they would include these in the base rate (they're usually an add-on expense) because we were losing space in the yard. They said they would “compromise” by including just one of the rooms, but would reduce capacity to only 70. We had been straightforward that our guest list was 80-90, and their website advertises up to 120 guests for a buffet or cocktail reception, which was our plan.
I understand they don’t do a ton of events in the winter, so I thought maybe they just didn’t have a well-designed plan for colder months and we could find a way to work one out. But they refused to work with us to expand capacity beyond 70 guests AND made no concessions on price. I have no idea what they would have done had we moved forward and temperatures were too cold for a tent (leave our guests shivering? cut our guest list week-of? at the door?) — I asked and and they couldn’t answer. On top of it all, they made me feel like I was a problem for having these concerns.
At the end of the day, I can’t believe that a venue would expect clients to pay full price for half a venue and 40% decreased capacity, especially in a season they admit having little to no bookings. They clearly do not want business in their winter months, but will jerk you around for a month pretending they do.

Planning a family wedding here. Sarah was wonderful, warm, & helpful.
