Misleading pricing. I was told that an item with a $40 price tag is actually $48. No apology or offer to honor the actual price of the item.

I went in looking for a jacket I saw online. The women working were SO helpful even though they didn’t have the exact color I wanted in stock. They searched the back to offer me similar colors and helped me pick out the perfect size. I was able to easily overnight ship the color I wanted at the register with their help. I really appreciated their assistance and how friendly they were!

TLDR - low quality items don’t match high prices
The clothes are cute and the store is nice but the item I bought turned out to be the lowest quality piece of clothing I’ve ever owned. With each wash the sweats become more threadbare, leaving tons of magenta lint in the dryer, on whatever socks I happen to be wearing with the sweats, and all over the floor after I put them on. Today, after not having them very long, I put them on and my toe ripped a hole in the cuff of the pant leg. FP used to be higher quality. Now, sadly, it’s just fast fashion at a higher price. If you’re going to spend that much, consider spending it on something that will last longer.

If the young ladies working here had said hello or offered any help, I may have bought something...

While shopping for new clothes at Free People today, I found a tank top and asked an employee for her opinion on which shorts would go well with it. She showed me a pair I liked, but when I went to pick out a medium, she suggested I also get a large. This made me feel body-shamed and offended. She tried to explain by saying she "always sizes up 'just in case.'" Feeling uncomfortable, I just went to the fitting room without saying anything else. I left Free People feeling insecure and not wanting to return. This was especially disappointing since I usually shop there regularly.

I love that there’s a free people store that carries just the movement line. It’s so fun to see all the different colors and try on the pieces in person. The employees were super friendly and helpful without being overly salesy. Very genuine and a fun shopping experience. The prices are expensive - comparable to a Lululemon, but still worth stopping in to look around or buy something special.
