First time here. I booked a 10:30am slot and walked out of the door 10:42am. The stylist I had originally booked did not see me. I had no problem getting my haircut by another lady. She was nice but this was too quick, almost rushed. For that, they charged $59 and I paid an extra $10 as a tip as I never know how much the stylist actually makes (whether they own the business or are employed etc). For a 12 min simple men' s haircut (more like a trim), I did not feel it was a good value for my money. The haircut was average 2.5 star.Service: Haircut

Got the time mixed up on my haircut and emailed them saying I was going to be about 5 minutes late for the scheduled time. They replied quickly, saying that I should instead come back ~1 hour later instead and they'll squeeze me in, great.Once I got there had the most rushed haircut I had ever received (honestly turned out well in spite of that) and definitely had the feeling I was being scammed. When I go up to pay they charged me $130 dollars because of my "no show" earlier in the day - for a 10 minute haircut. Insane. Luckily my CC company agreed with me when I disputed the charge and I got most of the money back. Avoid at all costs.Edit to reply to comment:Any business that is looking at customer retention would not think charging somebody $59 for showing up 5 minutes late is a good business practice. It was very clear from my experience that you were looking to make a cheap buck rather than looking for a return customer - just because of an honest mistake. There was no indication that the red text would apply because it was framed as a rescheduling rather than a no show. Felt really gross leaving this salon and would not return.Service: Haircut

I received a haircut in June from G2. The haircut was average and the place was not clean. I needed a quick haircut in middle of August so I requested an appointment on their website and never got an email (checked trash, spam, etc.) to verify I requested it and never got a confirm email for the appointment. I tried again to request an appointment for late August and once again their online system did not work. I then called and they said their system was working and I had missed my mid August appointment so I would have to pay for that appointment because I was a "no-show". You cannot be a no-show if you never had a confirmed appointment! They told me if I wanted to come back I would have to pay for two appointments. I do not, think they are trying to scam people, but their online system clearly does not work and the haircut is very average and the place is gross. I would avoid getting your haircut here at all costs. If you read through other review, I am not the only person they tried to double charge.Service: Haircut

So I booked an appointment at the last minute cuz my hair was getting out of control and my normal stylist has been super booked. I had a very clear image of the cut I normally get. The stylist, Amanda, didn't really seem to look very closely. She basically gave me a buzz cut, with it slightly longer on the top. Normally the top is textured with layers and there is more to style. She took the side fade far too high as it should not have gone much past the temple. It ends at about the top of my forehead. At $59, I would expect a really detailed cut that followed the image much more closely. It was done very quickly too. Probably took all of 20 minutes. It's not a terrible haircut, but it is nothing like what I asked for. Also I had to request that she wear a mask while cutting my hair. There is currently an uptick in transmissions in Cook County, even among the fully vaccinated, yet everyone (2 other stylists and 2 other customers) were maskless. Seven people in a very small salon w/o masks made me very uncomfortable. The receptionist didn't have one on when I got there, but was wearing one when I paid. Also, I didn't realize it was also a doggy day care and smelled strongly of dog. All in all a pretty disappointing first appointment.

Relatively new customer for G2. Stumbled across them after my last barber closed because of covid. I've been very pleased with the change. Katherine P. is a phenomenal barber/stylist. Without a doubt, I highly recommend G2.

Cannot express enough how unprofessional Katherine is. Not to mention the haircut is quite overpriced for the mediocre job done. You can get the same type of haircut at supercuts without the trash talk. Avoid.

First off, this place has so much character. From gorgeous ceilings to thoughtful interior decoration, the environment is dark, but in a comforting way like a fancy but cozy den. Second, some of the most knowledgeable stylists around. Not only were they able to recommend styles, they were able to work with me in real time to find new ways to cut my hair. I’ve always been particular about my hair and trying to find a new style for year, and I’ve only been able to confidently switch my signature style after a visit here!
