Poor customer service and rude comments from some older store associate who was upset that we only bought a few things and apparently they “won’t be open for us to hang out and only buy a few small things” on February 8th around 3:20 PM

Would never go again. Think it is absolutely ridiculous how some of the employees talk to customers. Worker did not allow my in-law to redeem his discount because the worker felt that name did not match how he looked. Rather then ask for identification they kept insinuating that my in law was not who he was. Absolutely ridiculous and inappropriate to base someone on how they look.

My mother called asking for the xbox x. They lied and told her they're not running the 450 price anywhere. Not even on Microsoft.com
Was telling her to play 350 extra. So they can pocket the extra cash for their Christmas shopping. If you're shopping for your children and grand children do no even shop here. This store is old and not even relevant I'm surprised it's still even open. This isn't trustworthy shop. Idc what any employee has to say trying to lying for the thirsty ass co workers. Save your reply. Idc to open it and look it.

I recently visited a GameStop location (2336 W. Cermak Rd. Chicago, IL) to purchase a controller for a friend’s young child. As someone unfamiliar with gaming, I had a few questions to ensure I was making an informed purchase. When the manager mentioned that the pre-owned controller might not work or could stop working, I asked if the controllers were tested before being sold. Instead of receiving clarity, I was met with an unnecessary attitude and accused of questioning their job performance.
To clarify, I did not assume anything about their process—I simply asked because I genuinely didn’t know the protocol. It is reasonable for a customer to inquire whether pre-owned products are tested, particularly when they lack familiarity with the item. Being labeled “rude” for asking a straightforward question was both disappointing and unprofessional.
I would encourage the company to consider additional customer service training for management and staff. Experiences like this can negatively impact customer trust and retention. For a business in a competitive market, maintaining courteous and helpful communication is critical to success.

I wish that I can give it 0 star but rhere is no 0 in the app so it was the worst branch ever i have speak with alot ot branches they were all good but this one is so bad because of the man The men who work are very rude. He described him as bald above, in front, and behind. He has hair and looks like a brown-blonde beard. He was very rude and racist when dealing with me. I hope he will take action against him. He told me that the laws are set by him, not me, and I did not say anything except I want to buy something and he... Rejected because I am a racist Arab or Muslim⁉️⁉️

I walk into this game stop with my meta quest 2 because my pet had bit off my head set and I had insurance on my device they said they couldn’t take it and too call the 1800 number so I called and the guy on the phone didn’t understand why they wouldn’t take my device so I go in their and have him talk to the representative on the phone and this guy at the store just didn’t want to give me a new device so I went to another game stop and they were able to do what they couldn’t do

Do not order nothing from this store for pick-up. Especially when the website says "one left in stock". They will irresponsibly sell the "one left" to a walk-in customer instead of setting it aside for you to pick up. The Story: I placed an order in the morning on Black Friday 2023 for a PS5 when this location had "one left in stock". Then, I called them to confirm that I would be able to pick it up in the evening, to which they replied yes. After a couple hours I had a change of plans and needed to pick up the PS5 earlier. So I called them again and asked if I could come earlier to pick it up and they told me "unfortunately, we sold out and canceled your order". I received no notification of this cancelation. Imagine if I showed up to the store in the evening like my original plan. They suggested I go to another location that has them in stock to buy it. The catch is, it takes 3-5 business days for the refund to process! So now they have nearly $500 of mine on hold waiting to process and I don't know if I can get this Black Friday deal still. I asked why they didn't set it aside when I ordered it and the excuse was "it sold as soon as your order came through". So then I asked, "why would you tell me I could pick it up in the evening on my initial phone call after I placed the order, if you knew you sold out". They are clearly lying to cover their behinds. Unfortunately for them, I caught them in it. Customer service was able to offer a request an expedited refund and two measly $5 coupons for the trouble. I haven't been to GameStop since the last time I had a bad experience years ago, only to come back to this ridiculousness. Always a circus with GameStop. They need to get it together at Cermak & Western.
