We have lived at Gateway for the last 4 years and we couldn’t ask for a better place to call home. The management team and building staff are amazing and always here to help. Lisa, the building manager, has helped us in so many ways recently and has gone above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. She is kind, patient and took the time to listen to us.

They have a two pipe A/C system that will leave you hot all winter. They emailed us 4 days before the cutoff that we needed to notify them of our move out, ended up having to rent month-to-month for 15 days at an exorbitantly higher rate than our lease. Then they charged us the wrong amount at move out, almost paid $1000 extra, and basically said oops when we corrected them.

We came into town for a week to view 17 apartments prior to the move. This experience was, by far, the worst.
Miguel was the rudest leasing agent and clearly didn’t want to be there. He spoke low, but got frustrated any time we asked him to speak up. He seemed personally offended that I asked if it was optional (it is) to sign a document saying they can contact me as much as they want for the next 90 days. He sped us through everything at the property in 15 minutes, giving us very little time to actually look. He completely left an amenity out, so when we passed the door for it, he said, “oh, you wanted to see that?” That’s literally why we are here. Then when we got to the unit, we looked around and asked questions. When we were done (the unit itself was just comparable to the others in the area), he asked, “no photos or videos? You guys must have a photographic memory then.” I don’t know if he was having a bad day, if it was because we are an LGBTQIA+ couple, if he’s this unprofessional with all of his tours, or if something else was happening. We made the decision not to even consider this place because of him.
The one thing I will say on the building is that their dog run isn’t cleaned. It smelled god awful and when I asked how often it is maintained (the longest we have been given is once per day) he said, “I’m not sure. That’s maintenances job. There’s no water access, so I don’t know if they can really clean it.”
Edit: The property manager, Lisa, called and emailed me to discuss the situation and apologize, as well as let me know how they would be proceeding. While we still won't be moving forward with the property, Lisa was very authentic and seemed to genuinely care that we knew this was not the Spirit of the property. I have changed the review to a 3-star from a 1-star because of this.

Awesome people especially Lisa, Miguel as building managers and Crystal at concierge.
Lisa helped me a lot with my questions and maintenance requests. She is warm, welcoming and very friendly. It's been a month since I moved in so will keep posting about the experience.
Pros
- Neat and clean building, they vaccum the lobbies
- Good and attentive building managers, they care
- Building has Gym, outdoor pool, sky lounge, co-working space and a printer with 20 free pages/month
- Crystal is a good person to talk to at concierge
- Luxer one package system, secured with OTP
- Free coffee and snacks
- Good location in west loop, marianos & whole foods at 2 mins
- Apartment amenities are good, I have old flooring some sticking out but my MR has been heard and will update here once fixed
- No pests/insects seen till date
Cons
- Rent is a bit high for a studio but other flats are priced ok, I did get a month's rent free deal
- I got an old Washer and dryer, makes loud noise but nothing could be done about it
- The thermostat could have been better placed, away from the windows
- Internet and Cable are billed as mandatory, would have been great if they were optional
All in all the cons are something that might be specific to my apartment but people are really great! Lisa is a rockstar!

Best management and maintenance team I've ever experienced at an apartment. Everyone is kind and beyond helpful. This is a great building to live at for a lot of reasons, but the staff makes it exceptional. It's a perfect location, quiet, and the units are super spacious. My roommate and I looked all over West Loop for the perfect apartment building, and it was obvious that Gateway was it the second we stepped inside!

This is such a great community!
Lisa and her team have really made us feel at home here.
The amenities from coffee, to fitness, and dog areas, not to mention super close to everything are like living at a resort for sure.
Ronald in maintenance has such a helpful attitude, has the property clean and always is super responsive.

Since moving to Gateway, I've really enjoyed my experience. The apartments and facilities are very well maintained. Akuba, who helps manage the building, is a welcoming presence and coordinates creative community events. The security team (shout out to Crystal, Arielle, and Nova) are all really friendly. Crystal is espeically ougoing and goes out of her way to make my experience as wonderful as possible. She even remembered my birthday and recognized my family when they visited me for the second time! I'd definitely recommend living in this building if you're looking to move.

Gateway made my move to the US so much smoother. From the extremely helpful leasing staff to all the amenities offered, my transition was seamless.I also would like to give a special shout out to Crystal who has been extremely accommodating from my very first day. I can hands down say my best experience across all previous residences to date has been with Crystal. She is caring, knowledgeable and really makes you feel at home!Thank you Gateway!

We have lived at gateway for 4 years and have enjoyed it so much! We love the staff from management office to concierges and maintenance team! Krystal is one of the concierges and she always has a smile on her face! She also takes her time to help every resident and we would not know what we would do without her at Gateway!
