Ran into the divider on LSD after sliding on some black ice and I went to Gerber to assess the damage. I was taken care of and my car was fixed in no time. I will most certainly be back (well I hope I don’t have to anymore) in the future and refer anyone who needs car repair here because they do such excellent work!

We used Gerber after a recent fender bender and could not be happier. They were nice, professional and quick. The car was returned spotless. We highly recommended this place and we will use them again if needed.

I feel bad that I don't have the Service Advisor's name, but I stopped in here in November after a person bumped into my car while parked in downtown Chicago. I was extremely upset about having to pay a $500 deductible for something that wasn't my fault. The service advisor brought out one of his techs, and the tech applied a compound to the front bumper and was able to use a buffing tool to get rid of the light damage. No insurance claim needed and I so happy to avoid all that hassle. Will definitely use this shop next time something happens! AAA car insurance recommended this shop to me

They repaired my bumper, which they did a great job. The problem is someone on the team stole my expensive pair of eye glasses. Like my eye glasses grew legs and walked away.I talked to Chris M. and another person I can't recall his name and they both claim that they guys don't steal, but yet my glasses are gone. They have no solution.I called my insurance company and explained to them the situation and let's just say that they will not be seeing anyone from that insurance company come there again, the insurance company doesn't have them one the list.Patricia

Every repair they have made to my cars is incorrect or incomplete. This last time they made false claims about a nationwide part shortage as the reason why my car was not finished after 45 days. I LOCATED THE PART AND PICKED IT UP THE NEXT DAY FROM A LOCAL HONDA DEALSHIP. Discovered that none of my interior lights worked, the windshield wipers don't work, the pieces of interior plastic arent aligned, and my insurance is trying to force me to bring the cars back to these hacks. My insurance pressures(USAA) me to use them and I'm now changing insurance companies to make sure I never have to go there again. STAY AWAY

They deserve way more than 5 stars. I had a 2021 Kia Forte that fell victim to the Kia boys trend, in January ANDJune 2023. Both times Chris got the car in and got the repairs done in under 4 weeks. Despite the nationwide parts shortage because every single Kia is getting broken into and damaged in exactly same way. Despite the fact the every other shop I called gave a best case estimate of at least 3 months for repairs. Add to that an amazingly seamless experience with insurance. Oh, and did I mention I got the car back fully detailed and with an extra half tank of gas !!! What !!?? Couldn't recommend this place more. Chris, if you're reading this, I'm the guy with the stick shift Kia and I managed to trade it in for a fair price. Thanks so much for your help.Service: Auto glass repair

Avoid this place! I brought my vehicle in for an estimate after it was involved in an accident. Parts were ordered and I was scheduled to bring it back 3 weeks later. Three days before I was scheduled to drop it off I called to verify the parts were in and was told that they were. I dropped it off as planned. I didn't want to leave my vehicle just sitting there waiting for parts. After 2 weeks they called and said that the body work was done and that it was headed to the paint department and that it should be ready to pick up in 2 weeks. Because I had not heard anything from them 2 days before I was supposed to pick it up I called them. I was told they were "waiting for a part" and it should be in the following week. They said they would call, they didn't. I had to call them again, then I was told that now they had to order another new door and that they would call me back, again nothing. I called them again and Ricky said he would run across the street and talk to the technician and that he would call me back, he never did. I finally got my vehicle back 4 weeks after the original date it was supposed to be done. The final bill was almost $3k over the original estimate and I had the rental car for 4 weeks longer too. I also noticed a couple of things that didn't appear to be right. There was a $185. charge on the bill for a wheel alloy and my vehicle had the same one on as before. It had the scratch marks as before so I know it was not replaced. There was also a charge for $180. for a new tire. It looked like a "new to you" tire. To me it doesn't look brand new and it doesn't match my other 3 tires, which are not that old. I don't know if they are incompetent, shady or both. My insurance was not paying for this but someones insurance was and it's too bad. No wonder the cost of car insurance is so high. But I do know that I don't recommend them and will never go back there. I hope this post well spare someone the aggravation that I experienced.

Stay away- far far away. Took vehicle in minor body work and car came out in worst shape. Tire literally fell off on the highway due to their negligence. I should have known from the start… this was a recommended approved shop from my insurance that was near my residence so seemed great. Obviously too good to be true. Never followed up to book original estimate appointments so finally called and got an appointment after 2 weeks. Ridiculously wrong timeline given for repairs- one day by a certain project manager turned into 2 weeks without any explanation and zero help with a rental upon that information. Lots of misinformation via text about the completion timeline and an extra service we agreed to was not completed despite arrangements that it would be paid for outside of insurance. But I let that roll because it was extra but finally got car back and the wheel in the repaired area literally falls off on the highway. So dangerous. I had my wife and several work colleagues in the car so it was simply negligent and put all of them at risk. I can not stress enough that this location seems willing to disregard standards and good service for your insurance company’s dime. You can charge them for the laser scan alignment all you want but if you don’t properly tighten the bolts on a tire after 5 weeks of process, you’re missing something. Again I would recommend staying as far away as possible from this shop for you and your loved ones’ safety and well-being.

Gerber came recommended through my insurance after my car was broken into, stolen, and taken on a joy ride through the streets of Chicago. Getting your car stolen is not fun, and Chris and his team did a wonderful job in the repair process and greatly reduced the stress involved by providing great customer service and regular updates. Super helpful team, great service and although my car was a write off if I need any future work done I’d be happy to bring my next car to Gerber. My insurance quote was ready within a few days even though they let me know they were pretty backed up and getting my my to them was nice and easy.

My first experience here was a repair they completed for me after my car was involved in a side swipe accident. They restored my 2017 Toyota Highlander to pristine condition. The experience was great, mostly elevated by their customer service and professional touch. Fast forward to now, I just purchased a 2023 Toyota Highlander Hybrid, Pearl White, pristine, but into 2 weeks of having my new vehicle, someone bumped and scuffed the back driver side of my vehicle pretty good while parked. I was devastated. Definitely not enough damage to go through insurance, but since I felt good about my experience with Gerber, they were my first stop to get an out of pocket estimate to repair the damage. Chris, who was very personable, and energetic, and professional, in line with what I experienced customer service wise before, came to assess my vehicle. To my surprise and thrill, he looked at my vehicle, gave me a brilliant, kind smile and said to give him 20 minutes to see what he can do. What?!?! He came back in 20 minutes, and my vehicle was beautiful again! No charge, just kindness and goodwill. I am so grateful and impressed and again, Gerber Collision's staff has left another indelible mark on me. I won't hesitate to seek them out for any of my needs, in the rare occasion it is necessary in the future, however, I won't hesitate to refer them to anyone who is in need of repair for their vehicle. It's hard to find businesses with great business ethic and great customer service, Gerber has both. Thanks Chris for being awesome and making my week!

I don't usually do reviews but I feel like customers need to know about the terrible service from this particular body shop. I took my car in for an estimate and decided to have the work done by the shop. I was told to bring in my vehicle on a particular scheduled day. Once I got to the shop, I was informed by representative Chris. Frelhaut that he MEANT to call me to tell me that he didn't have the part in for my repairs and he acted like it wasn't a big deal to him. However, I had drove a half an hour and planned my whole schedule around, dropping my car off that morning. He asked me to bring it back a week later and he should have the part. I told him I wouldn't make the drive again a week later until he called me first to let me know he had the part. Well, it's been a week and a half and I still have not heard from him. So I'm very glad that I did not make that long drive again. Terrible customer service so if you're looking for a body shop to repair your vehicle, I suggest that you DO NOT choose this one.
