I had the absolute worst experience at this H&R Block location. I was working with Jenette Sevilla, I spoke with her in February and maintained contact with her only until the beginning of March. Jenette was attentive and thorough at the start of our first conversation. After the first conversation, I gradually stopped hearing from her. I kept reaching out during the month of March, and in the beginning of April and received zero response. finally in the first week of April, I persistently emailed her and was still getting zero response. Two days before tax day I called the office several times and each and every time I was told that Jenette was with a client. I told the receptionist that I too was a client and have a right to speak with her, but I was always put off. The day of tax day I called again in frustration and asked to please speak with her and again I was informed she was with a client. So basically Jenette completely ghosted me up until tax day. this caused me so much distress and inconvenience and frustration, and I was shocked at her cavalier attitude. In addition to the receptionist, who just completely blew me off and disregarded me as a client. I just wanna know in what world is this ethically and morally acceptable. I had to scramble and file my taxes on my own. I reached out to the Lakeview location of H&R and Ellen Grimmer was very kind and helped me through some questions. But I was completely blindsided and shocked at Jeanette’s attitude, and how H&R can allow this sort of behavior. I would never, ever recommend recommended Jenette and want make you aware of her. Do not approach her for your tax questions.

Carlos is the best Tax Pro I have ever worked with. He is an extremely knowledgeable professional that clearly explains all items during the returns reviewing process. He is so friendly and efficient that I even enjoy doing my taxes with him. If you are looking for the best, look no more.

This was my first time using a tax preparation service. I have always done my taxes myself. Growing up, my parents used H&R Block. H&R Block handled my filing with professionalism and efficiency in all stages of the process.

If i could give hit 10 stars, I would. Carlos has been doing my tax returns for years. My taxes are more complicated than most tax returns. He does a fantastic job and is always there when I need advice. I definitely recommend him. Thanks Carlos!

I had a wonderful experience with Sarah Nunez. She was kind, informative, and paid attention to detail. Taxes have always been confusing for me (I'm sure a lot of people can agree) but she made this tax year extremely easy. I'm looking forward to our appointment for next year!

Avoid this location and H&R Block in general for filing of your federal and state taxes. My experience: I went to this location to file my taxes in February 2021, a tax professional named David helped me and told me that I owed a substantial amount to the IRS. I went home and reviewed the documents and realized he had made a mistake so I went back into the office and he apologized and told me he was going to file an amended return. Seven months later, present day, a HR Block representative over the phone told me an amended return was never filed. Do not trust this location or H&R Block with your tax preparation.

Avoid filling your taxes at this place. IF there was less than one star rating I would give it to this place.My Brother filled his tax return at this site few days ago. David was the person who filled the tax return for him. He was so rude and unprofessional. They agreed at the beginning on 69$ then he asked my brother to pay 130$. He even made a mistake in entering his tax information.When my brother called them back to ask them to correct the mistake. David told my brother that they can't do anything about it because they already submitted his tax return.I used to fill my tax return at this place but now I am not going to .

The tax professional created my account incorrectly (put my first name as last, and last as first) and refused to admit she had made a mistake creating a delay for allowing me to approve. When she did put it in it was immediately rejected as I needed an IP PIN. This was on April the 16th. When I provided the PIN on the 18th, and called to confirm that my tax professional received my PIN to resubmit my return. I was then told that my tax professional's last day was the 16th. I was not told it was her last day, even when I was going back and forth with my professional on the 16th she did not bring it up. When I called and trying to find a resolution, the person provided very little in solutions until I pushed for same-day solutions.

Won't be coming back. We loved the location on Ashland in Lakeview and since moved to River North. We worked with David. His mask was below his nose the entire time. He quoted us 3 different prices each time as if doing mental math adding up what we needed. We handed him our forms and it's as if he had never done taxes before. You are the "expert". Not us. I really wanted to get up and leave mid meeting as I didn't feel our financial status was in good hands at all. Please have the location owner sit in on a meeting with him as I would not want David representing my business. For this price for doing standard deductions, we are better off doing it ourselves.
