This jewels is a good place to shop. The food is always Fresh! The store is pretty much clean and it’s a wonderful place to shop groceries.

This is a terrible store. They don't clean the toilets, the drinking fountains don't work, and the baggers don't know how to bag. There is no one at the customer service counter, and security is completely ineffectual. Furthermore, if you try to write to the Jewel-Osco company there's no apparent way to do so on their website.

Way too much stuff crowding the walkable space recently. There's a huge number of chokepoints in every aisle due to all of the extra displays that are spammed everywhere. I had been going to this store for years but it really feels cramped the last few months.

Shopped the Jewel on DesPlaines today. The produce selection & freshness was OUTSTANDING! Best I’ve ever seen. The choices were 1st rate! Also, Javier at checkout is the best employee! I commend his friendliness & competency. (The only ‘checker’ in the store that is customer oriented. Most don’t even speak or look at you!) High five, Javier!

Inventory isn’t managed accurately between the app and the store. I went to pick up an item I ordered and it wasn’t available. they don’t answer the support phone and voice mail isn’t set up. Poorly managed business.

(i came here probably 100 times)adequate service, nice atmosphere, food + produce quality is subpar.the milk is expired sometimes, often the sell by date is very soon within a week of the current date, always check. this can be mitigated by buying the expensive organic sealed stuff which has a much longer expiry date and tastes better too.i was once accosted by an unfriendly homeless outside of the store. i gave him some of my grocery purchase (cold brew coffee) in order to calm him down. he was thirsty. such homeless are a real menace.despite this negative experience i still come here but i insist to you that something must be done about this problem of unfriendly homeless, they are worse than rats, worse than coronavirus, they are a pestilence and plague on us surely!

Was regularly buying a ready-to-eat salads in this store but today the salad I bought was bitter. All the greens and cabbage were not fresh and bitter, and the meat was smelling badly?. I couldn't finish it and threw it away. $6 in a trash can! Be careful of their "fresh" produce

Two stars because display price of Hellman’s Olive oil mayo was $3.99 but it rang up as 4.99 at cashier. To prove price I had to go take photo of item & price. Even then cashier said that might be an old price and started scrutinizing photo to see the date. Seriously! I had to remind her its the law to sell at display price and only then she had price ring up properly. Check your receipts!! Even for a small item.

This place used to be good. I would advise not to buy meat from here or any of the hot food. Other Jewel-Osco around the area are much better.

Nice urban grocery store well stocked sale prices are good. Non sale items can be a bit pricey. Personally, I don't care for the buy two get two just give me a fair price.

Horrible customer service from Faith in the check-out line. I’ve been in her line a few times and each time she bags even slower than the last. Almost like she does it on purpose so she doesn’t have many people come into her line. Took 25 minutes to check out and multiple people behind us took their groceries to another line. When offering to help bag up our own groceries to speed up the process she coped an attitude and told me “No I’ve done this before” allowed her to continue to put the bags together and then she yelled at me again to only grab the items at the end of the line, because she didn’t want to “cut her hand” ??? And proceeded to throw our eggs to the end after I said I was going to bag up my groceries. Completely unacceptable treatment to customers and unfriendly to each person who is in her line. I will be taking my business to Mariano’s for now on, their employees are actually happy to be at work and helping at an acceptable pace.

Clean store, easy to navigate around. Prices were a little higher than my local store back in Texas. Prices compared to other grocery stores I visited while in Chicago were lower.
