Lillstreet Art Center is a fantastic gem in Chicago and a supportive community for artists of all levels. It offers fun classes and workshops in ceramics, drawing, and many other topics, all taught by working artists. The facilities are good. It also provides fantastic children's classes and camps. Students feel inspired and can grow in their craft with helpful teachers. The center includes artist residencies and a Gallery Shop with local artwork.
I learned how to oil paint here. I went from painting still life bottles to portraits. I recently sold my first portrait for $300.

Our daughter attended a week of sewing and photography classes this summer and was ecstatic. Each teacher we met dropping off and picking up were wonderful. And they seemed to care a great deal about security and safety, too. Great center.

My adult daughter and I attended an introductory ceramics workshop where we made nesting bowls. It was such a great experience! The instructor was knowledgeable and a lot of fun as well! I feel more confident in my ability to work with clay and I highly recommend!
