The meat department has gone down hill. Always out of meats very limited not cut correctly. Staff is so friendly I would give them that.

Used to be great, but not anymore. Every time I go there's merchandise they're out of. Ridiculous.
October 2024 edit: somehow it's gotten worse. I started going to Cermak, Aldi, or Jewel, depending on what I need. Been waiting 35 for a rotisserie chicken. I should have just roasted my own. Management should be embarrassed.

This Mariano’s has gone down hill ever since it was bought like Kroger like the rest of them. Remember everyone; a Kroger exec admitted to price gouging.

I came in around 9 pm to purchase some pre packaged deli food for a quick meal. The security guard started following me around and then had the self check out attendant follow me. She must’ve been that bored. Didn’t know it was a crime to shop and buy yourself a few things.

I was shocked to see how many healthy food choices were available and how fresh their produce and meats were. Friendly staff, stores are all in the same order so things are easy to find, quick and efficient shopping. I'll be back again.

Went there tonight to pick up donuts and every box was covered in ants told a cashier and all she did was say she apologize and say then to the side. She didn’t bother to call a manager or take the of them from the shelf. Look at your food before you buy.

I loved the wide variety and will definitely come back. The employees are helpful and keep the store clean & stocked. A great deal of different varieties of food & drink items.

I visit the Elston location many times per week and have noticed a big increase in spoiled products in the refrigerator cases. I recently spoke to a manager and walked him through the department and after a few minute conversation he walked away with an armful of spoiled products!!! He assured me that he was going to take care of the situation. I was asked by an employee, in front of the manager, if I was a reviewer! Appalled I reminded the fool that I am a consumer and he should remember that without consumers he wouldn't have a job. Needless to say, two days later, more rotten bacon on the shelf that disappeared only after another employee saw me take a picture of it!
Some things never change, today I stopped on my way home and look what yummy tortillas I bought. Hopefully the new owners will take better care of their customers.

This is my favorite Mariano's! The employees here are friendly and helpful and don’t try to avoid you when they see that you need help! Whenever I need help I can always find someone to help me and it's less than the time you expect it to be done in. It's always clean and well-organized in there.

Terrible Service and Rude Staff!
Do not come here! The staff is incredibly rude and unhelpful. I've had multiple experiences where I've called in advance to ask if they were grilling meat, and they assured me they were. However, every time I arrived at the store, they either weren't grilling or claimed the person “just left,” all while I could see someone else getting their steaks grilled right next to me.
When I tried to ask the workers for clarification, they responded with a huge attitude and were just plain disrespectful. It's really disappointing to encounter such poor customer service, especially when the staff seem to lack basic respect for customers.
If you’re looking for a place to buy meat and have it grilled, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere. If you can, avoid this place and buy your groceries at a different location. They need serious improvement in customer service!

Just got off the phone with bakeshop and they were very friendly. I was inquiring about a smash cake for my daughter's first birthday and they were very friendly and gave me all the information. I can't wait to pick up the cake later on today.
