I'm actually being too generous giving this store 1 star. I was just in there trying to make a purchase & was directed to self checkout while there were multiple workers with all the cash registers closed. I refused to use self checkout, the customer service desk wasn't open yet and 1 worker offered to "show me how to use self checkout because they want me to learn". I find this completely unacceptable. I am not a Mariano's employee. I don't work at Mariano's. Therefore, as a customer I expect live customer service from a live employee and nothing less.

I’ve shopped here for a decade..Mariano’s, I will never spend another penny in your stores. I spent $20 on …..infected meat. I don’t even know what this is. It’s was covered in white heads and smelled like yeast . I’m used to buying your over-priced fruits/veggies that always end up bruised or half rotten because I didn’t pay close enough attention while picking them out( produce from this location is chronically mishandled/bagged by improperly trained staff)… but $20 for rotten meat is where I end this. There wasn’t even a sell by/use by stamp..Happy to support Whole Foods. Your meat is priced the same and theirs has never been rotten/infected.Please if corporate reads this: this location has been run into the ground the last 5 or so years. The cashiers/floor team are always helpful and just really nice in general. This problem starts at the top.

The men's restrooms have been by far the worst I have encountered at any Marianos I've shopped at. I like that it's within my neighborhood but lately find myself shopping at other locations. The restroom is always dirty, toilet paper dispenser broken, and the lock in the stall broken. But this last visit was just unacceptable.

The only problem I have is that it's difficult getting in and out of the parking lot.

I’m giving it a 2 stars for the convenience from my home but I’ve had a few instances now of buying stuff that have been expired for 3+ weeks. Please check the dates as they sell expired stuff. This place used to be good, it has decreased A LOT

The store is not the best as the produce section is lacking and many products are off the shelf. Get going to a different store!

Whatever you do, do not make your cakes at this bakery, I made a cake for my children, ninja turtles birthday, three days in advance on the day of the birthday in the store. They told me they cannot make it anymore because licensing. They were very rude they did not compensate me in any matter, if you want your cakes to be perfect for your children’s birthday, do not make them at the store absolutely terrible. I give them a half a star I could.

Here it is 3 years later and I'm still shopping here. Why? Believe me if there was a better & closer choice I'd go there. So in the past three years I've seen items on the shelves & in cold sections that were - expired, spoiled, damaged (too hot/cold storage or packaging), over-priced (compared to other retailers), and limited selections. The gluten free stuff is still spread through out, but in some cases a few items get grouped together... but be careful! There will be non-gluten free items mixed in.---------------------------I will not be shopping here anymore. They've rearranged the layout and the gluten free section is now spread out through the store. They did the same with the frozen gluten free items.Idiots._________________Mariano's in general has greatly declined in a number of service areas since opening in Chicago-land. Customer Service from the managers has always been non-existent. And the poor service is now trickling down hill to the rest of the employees. The baggers are useless, I almost always have to either educate them on proper bagging or rebag my stuff. They appear to be allergic to common sense. And the "mandatory" use of the loyalty card is antiquated.... it's only purpose is to create the illusion of "lower prices". There are many products in their store that are consistently over priced and the "card" pricing comes close but isn't actually that competitive. And then there's the convenient "out of stock" game they play with popular items that are "on sale".

Handicap accessible, wide aisles, well lit good selection. Prices are high though, price tags on shelving unit with product are sometimes wrong, so when you get to checkout you find out otherwise.

My experience from Marianos this morning was the worst experience I’ve ever been through with a grocery chain. I went in to get brown and serve sausages and to get croissants for breakfast. Both items were in extreme opposite spots of the store. So I went and picked up the brown and serve sausages which were on the furthest north part of the store, then went to the bakery, which was on the furthest south part of the store, and I walked up to the counter in the bakery, where three ladies were speaking, and I said excuse me, can I get some croissants to a African-American worker. She says yes they are cooling because they just came out of the oven. I told her that’s OK I’ll take them now. How many do you want? She says. I said three. She walks away. Another woman comes to me, her name is Michelle, & says well if you’re going to take three we got a charge you for 4 because that’s how they’re sold! I replied, fine I’ll have four! She then replies you don’t have to be rude. I was just flabbergasted! Forget it I said. I’m not sure how she got I was being rude to her by responding 4? I went to self check out and said, is there a manager here? she goes well she’s over there behind the counter. I said you know what I will never come back to Mariano’s because of this experience today she asked me what happen I told her. I said, obviously I interrupted the conversation. The four women were having which was not business related because they were chuckling when I walked up. What happened to customer service and exceeding customers expectations? I have been a chef for 35 years and every customer I tried to exceed their expectations.

This place never has cashiers. Having closed lines during the holiday is wild, and screams of management that doesnt care about service or their staff. That couped with staff that never seem to know whats going on and NEVER know where anything is located in their own store. Just go to jewel

Nice place for weekly grocery shopping and also for a quick shopping because the variety and fresh products are good but the prices aren't so good, for example they increased the price of their Sicilian pizza (the ready to bake one) up to double price, they just reduce the size until a half for the same price ( a way classic in this times) so if you're looking for good prices, go stray or bring good lens.

The order pickup at this store is TERRIBLE. Countless times I have had to call Kroger Support to request a refund, as my number of missing items exceeds the number I can submit online.

Meh. When this store opened a few years ago, there was a piano with a real human pianist performing, many samples, and good prices. Over the past 5 years the piano became electronically controlled, then eventually ditched altogether. Now -- no samples and high prices. The deli section has good variety, with sushi and freshly prepared sandwiches. Good hot food and salad bars, though rather expensive. Produce is expensive with little selection of greens and other fresh veggies. You'll have to search to find specials on fruits. It's difficult to shop here without bumping into employees gabbing with each other in the aisles. Their registers are usually understaffed. It's only recently that one is able to use tap-and-pay or other NFC payment. Then there's Stan's donuts/coffee. Way overpriced with fancy-looking pastries of lower quality than the store's bakery.
