This place is so anti semitic, a black man with braided hair said he was the manager and had a strange name and told me he doesn't care if I'm Jewish I have to leave the store because he doesn't like the way I was shopping. I'm from Israel and I come here to cook for my family after seeing violence and surviving and he brandishes me as not only a dirty semite, but as a thief. Which I am not. This cannot happen in america.SHAME ON YOU AND YOUR BUSINESS AND YOUR COMPANY FOR ALLOWING SUCH ANTISEMITISM IN THE WORKPLACE.I have never stolen in my life. I DEMAND justice. And talking won't help obviously so I will leave this review here as a reminder to all who shop here. Not only for Jewish people but for anyone who shops here will be looked at as a thief without reason or BRD.

Garbage store 3/28/24 arrived at the store at 9:48 to buy last minute dinner after work, the doors were opened and still was able to walk in and get all my stuff and arrived at the register at 10:02 there was one guy infront of me checking his stuff out to leave and they refused to ring me up and said that the store was closed. They didnt allow me to get my dinner at 10:02 even while they were already ringing someone out. If they were closing they should of closed the door down stairs or had security saying the store was closed and i wouldnt be able to purchase my items. The tall polish looking rent a cop is rude and the employees that were at the register… trash they need to gain customer service skills.

Great low-key date night at the Mariano's bar. You can purchase any food in the store and eat it with a great selection of well priced wine and beer. This is one of the best bars I've been to in Chicago. Charlie is a fantastic bartender and host.

Really confusing layout and the security guards have guns here. Feels unwelcome just walking in. Hopefully they close soon!

Visited for a few grocery items during our Andersonville trip.Nice quality and variety on produce. We found a large container of fresh berries for only $6 (very affordable). The berries we selected stayed fresh and tasty over several days; no mold at all.We hoped to find ripe bananas, but everything on the display was super-green. My husband mentioned this to the individual stocking the item. He voluntarily went to the banana racks near the checkouts (which we didn't know about) and found some a little riper, which we bought. Really went the extra mile on customer service!

This grocery store has security personnel with firearms. Like they are going to get into a shootout in a crowded store because someone is stealing meat from a multi-billion dollar corporation. Absurd and stupid.

Step into the panopticon for a truly dystopian grocery experience. Kroger makes sure you are aware you’re under constant surveillance with big screen monitors in most aisles that show your picture and “RECORDING IN PROGRESS” underneath. If that isn’t enough to make you feel like a prisoner, there are security guards at each entrance (some with armor plate carriers!) and the checkout to eyeball you while you spend your hard earned money on price-gouged groceries. This place is a mess and I feel bad for the employees (who are mostly great). What a time to be alive.

Every time I shop here, something is missing, rotten, broken, etc. And today, I had a mountain of frozen pizzas fall on me and returned home only to find that the stew meat I purchased was rotting in the middle when it came time to cook. And it was packed in such a way that the butcher had to have known. Disgusting. When I called, I got nothing. Like their phones were broken. I'm done. We have Aldi, Harvest Time, Cermak, Lindo Michoacan nearby. Anything is better than the mess of this corporation. The Mariano family should be ashamed of how their stores have taken such a turn.

Unlawful Detainment, Bodily Harm, and Battery Incident at Mariano's Store 5201 N Sheridan Rd, Chicago, IL 60640I am writing this review to express my deep dissatisfaction with the service and treatment I received at Mariano's store located at 5201 N Sheridan Rd, Chicago, IL on September 18, 2023. My experience was marred by an incident involving a security guard that left me unlawfully detained, physically harmed, and emotionally distressed.I was at Mariano's store, I observed vehicles illegally parked in a handicap spot and took photographs and video for later reporting these violation through official government channels. After I documented multiple illegal parking in a handicap spots, I was confronted by a security guard identified only as Jason, employed by Metro-One-Loss-Prevention-Group. This encounter quickly escalated, leading to the guard forcefully slamming my car door on my right hand, causing bodily harm and drawing blood. What's more, the guard followed me to the pharmacy, jeopardizing my state and federal HIPAA rights, as I intended to discuss confidential health matters. It's worth noting that the security guard is not a HIPAA "business associate" of Mariano's Pharmacy, making his actions illegal and a blatant violation of privacy rights.I have taken the necessary legal steps, filing an official police report (JG429371) along with a video of the battery, with the Chicago Police Department's currently assigned to Detective Lato of the Area 3 Special Victims Unit (SVU). I am now seeking legal redress and have submitted a request for the issuance of a summons or warrant against the security guard responsible for the incident, as well as the responsible parties at Mariano's for their role in the altercation. The store's handling of this situation raises serious concerns about customer safety, and I question the adequacy of their security protocols. The lack of disclosure regarding the security guard's last name and the company's failure to address this incident promptly is disconcerting.I hope this review serves as a warning to potential customers and prompts Mariano's management to take immediate action in addressing these issues. The disregard for customer well-being and privacy displayed during this incident is unacceptable, and I expect a swift and thorough investigation into this matter.Metro One Loss Prevention Group1050 N State St Ste 209, Chicago, IL 60610 (312) 475-1145metroonelpsg.comTel: 718-370-6778Email:
