DO NOT SIGN UP.Here’s exactly what happens - they charge you every month. No convenient appointment times are ever available. When they are available, they will cancel them on you, sometimes with less than an hour’s notice. You will end up with 20+ credits, which they will give you exactly one month to use if you try to cancel. They make it difficult to cancel, and you cannot reach anyone outside the location ever. They have a class action lawsuit against them. Check Reddit for all the info about what an unethical company this is. Don’t make the same mistake I did.UPDATE: this is the same canned response they send to everyone, and then they refer you right back to - guess who - the manager at the clinic causing the problem! Smoke and mirrors here.

Fair warning for any new patrons.Easy to sign up,IMPOSIBLE TO CANCEL.As mentioned in previous reviews, everything need to go though management (Anita) and she is close to impossible to get a hold of. I’m literally going on month number 2 trying to cancel and I’ve emailed, called, left voice mails and yet I still got charged for another month even after submitting my cancellation form to her within the time frame stated on their contract. Being a former employee of this exact location it was hard for me to leave a 1 star review but this is strictly directed towards management. Canceling should be just as easy as signing up. I’m hoping this review will get someone’s attention so I can finalize my cancellation.This does not speak about the therapist. Bree is a top shelf therapist! She’s is most definitely a 5 star individual.

have been simply trying to cancel my membership since March. Got charged even after submitting the necessary documents in April and after 3 follow ups to the local managers email, a call to the local store and 2 to the corporate email, I still have not heard back. Truly horrific service. I actually enjoyed my time as a member but this has ruined that to the point I have to post this review to just get their attention hopefully.

Very rude staff working the front desk on 1/9/2023 around 5 pm. They changed my appointment without telling me, then tried to make me feel bad about it. Masseur was super weird, heavy breathing, and made me deeply uncomfortable. Very unpleasant experience start to finish. I have had much better experiences at the bucktown location but I don't think I'll come back to massage envy any time soon after this.

DO NOT get fooled by the membership. This location has serious problems. Everything has to go through the store manager, but the store manager is NEVER available and it's hard to get hold of her, even if I tried calling the store multiple times with messages. They have inconsistent policies. When I tried to cancel my membership, they said I have to do so through the Store Manager, but how can I do so if I cannot get hold of her, despite leaving her multiple messages? I've already submitted my membership termination request to the HQ email address, but I'm writing this review, such that there are no victims like me who are fooled by the membership program that they are trying to phish, and also to get some attention from the store manager/the corporate HQ such that I don't get charged for the next month's membership fee, and moving forward.

Great location with experienced massage therapists. Mercedes is incredibly talented. I travel for business often and have a lot of stress and tension concentrated in my shoulders and back. Mercedes is able to work out the knots and make me feel like a new person after each treatment. My only complaint with this location is that you have to schedule appointments weeks/months out because the therapists are so good.

This place is such a racket. You have to schedule two months out to get somebody decent and then they will cancel at the last minute. They do not refund your money and they give you a short window to use your remaining credits which again are impossible to use because they don't deliver the service even when you have an appointment on the books for weeks. I am actually in the process of having to go through my bank to make me whole again. Run run run from this horrible establishment.

Great massages, but management has a habit of changing the terms without written notification and charging to a card accordingly. Asked to be put on freeze, was taken off freeze without written notification, asked to be put back on, wasn't honored. I'm sorry to complain because the staff are good, it's just management that is practicing what amounts to credit card fraud.

As a former massage envy employee for another location that valued customer service and quality therapists, this is objectively not a good location. They never call to give you appointment reminders which is standard for every Massage Envy I have ever booked with. The front desk has consistently been rude. Sometimes they won't even answer the phone on the same day you have an appointment, and they gave me a difficult time when I tried to put my account on hold for medical reasons. Even though I opened a membership at this location, I was overall underwhelmed by the 3 treatments by different therapists I received here my first few months and have just gone to Wicker Park since then. Also as a note - their prices recently went up, and they gave no notice to their members. When I called to ask questions about it, I was met with an attitude and told that they didn't have to give me a notification. This review has been a long time coming, but that last interaction gave me the final incentive. Wish I had at least one positive experience... but I don't.

This location is an absolute disaster.Repeatedly deceived about monthly membership, including options to change, pause, and share benefits. Appointment times are inconsistently available. Desk staff is distracted and annoyed when contacted.Requested massages to be limited to certain parts of body (e.g., calves and back); requests were not followed.Team is inconsistent with messaging, which has led to confusion and frustration. Have requested conversations with managers, who will "call me back" the following day. They have yet to call back the following day. I get the sense that the staff could be better if enabled my management, but management lacks leadership and basic customer service decency.###After the request to call, I did call. Multiple attempts on my part later, a manager finally responded and put on a clinic on how to ruin a client relationship. I am still waiting on them to update me on the account status. Requests to corporate on their contact-us form remain unanswered.What a horrific, unorganized experience.

I don't understand why the need for the low ratings here because just two days ago I made an impromptu visit and had an excellent experience with Bree.I'm assuming the services will vary depending upon which therapist is available so I'm highly recommending Bree because I needed a food myofascial type of massage because of my chronic sinus pain and she knew exactly which trigger points to focus on.I was extremely lucky because when I walked in inquiring about a same day appointment the two receptionist alerted me of a last minute cancelation at 4pm and I excitedly grabbed it!I will definitely reschedule here with Bree for a longer session and I'm very grateful ? she was available for the hour because I absolutely feel so much better this week ?

I had a good time getting my facial here. The staff were nice. My esthetician was very friendly and made great conversation while doing a good job. She pulled a tip outta me hahaha.

Massage Envy is consistently a disappointment. Average massages and well below average service experiences. Most recently when I went for a massage, I arrived on time, checked -in with an unfriendly receptionist, and was left waiting for a half hour only to learn that the masseuse wasn’t there. No apology, and no response from the manager who, I was told, could not be reached by phone and did not have regular hours at the location due to her busy schedule. Clearly the business model relies on aggressively selling memberships rather than providing good customer service. I will not be going back to this or any other Massage Envy.

I am in the process of trying to cancel my membership but no one is getting back to me which is very frustrating. I called last week and the receptionist told me that he would give them my information and they would contact me. It's been a week and I reached out twice more AND emailed the main company website.MANAGEMENT - please contact me ASAP as I need to cancel my membership!!!!
