I have lost nearly $1,000 because of Menards’ completely unhelpful and evasive Customer Service Team.
When I reached out to inquire about filing a warranty claim on warped flooring, I was given only a generic form to fill out and attach photos and receipts, then told to mail it in. What I was NOT given was the actual warranty requirements or even a link to the vendor’s process. After I had already ordered new flooring and paid my contractor to replace the damaged boards, I finally received a call from an inspector who informed me he needed to see the warped flooring in person to process the claim. By then, the flooring had already been replaced and disposed of—something that could have been avoided entirely if Menards had provided the relevant information upfront. As a result, my claim was denied.
When I asked Menards’ Customer Service Team to help rectify the situation, the experience became even worse. I reached out by email, then mailed them THREE times (since they do not even have a phone number for customer service). Each response was evasive, either diverting responsibility back to the vendor or suggesting I return the warped flooring I had already explained was gone. My final detailed letter, re-explaining the entire scenario, was ignored completely.
The pattern is clear: Menards’ Customer Service Team exists only to block refunds, not to help customers. Their lack of transparency, accountability, and basic customer support has cost me hundreds of dollars and endless frustration.
I will never spend another dollar at Menards, and I strongly urge others to avoid them if you are undertaking any building or renovation project. If something goes wrong, you will not get the help you need.
UPDATE 10/6/25: I followed up with the general manager as noted in Menards reply to this review, but still no help or resolution. The only purpose was of the call was to deflect blame, noting that the customer service team is not required to provide vendor warranty details, effectively still not holding the Menards Customer Service Team accountable for the insufficient infromation provided when a paying coustomer sought help and guidance. The call was a complete waste of my time. I have spent thousands of dollars with this store and they will not see one more penny from me after this!

I went to Menards to grab some mulch for our flower bed and Gary approached us as we were looking puzzled. We were trying to find the right one that would be safe for our puppy. Gary helped looked up the ones they had and informed us that the natural cedar chips would be best. He was not only super helpful but very kind and took time to educate us.

A professional, passionate, humble, knowledgeable, respectful in every aspect of handling a customer like myself who really doesn’t know from a wire or to a nail, then you have my father who knows a wire from a nail, so to different personalities clashing, but here comes Janette to save the day and makes us both happy, I mean she broke down measurements, she searched the website to show me and educate me on how things are measured. Explained to me about stainless steal, how it works for cleaning, washer dryer, gas stove, microwave, I mean I wanted to know how things work, I can only say my family and I had a great experience in legendary customer service with Janette, so if you ever need anything for your home improvement come see Janette and the smiley faces with awesome customer service here at MENARDS CLYBORN

The truth. We've always thought that menards is a nice local, neighborhood supplies store.
Utterly DISAPPOINTED today. Was at paint dept.
1) no one was at paint and had to wait awhile, then I decided to flag someone down in the back
2) when paint mixing is done, it would be nice to be notified, called out to the customers. There were several paint gallons on the counter, however, no call out, and we also have to figure out whose who. I had to confirm that the paint was mine as it was not labeled clearly, with my name for instance, or the type of paint.... Or something.. just something so that I know this is my paint. Call my name out, the customer name out would be helpful..
3) personality, customer service of paint reps. Could be more customer friendly, friendliest goes a long way. Rather than lacking thereof or.. a simple hi, hello, I don't know, or smile, or even acknowledgement helps
4) there are more items.. will update in due time
Highly disappointed with Menards. Spoke with attending manager about this lack of customer service

Tried to return a propane tank that was defective (only used about 1/3 of it and it stopped working). I asked to replace it and was confronted by a store manager very aggressively insinuating that I hadn't bought the item there (which I did). I had to replace the tanks anyway so paid for that and left but, due to the unprofessional and rude employee, I'll stick to Home Depot for anything else I need. I've been to this store before and it's been fine but I guess their hiring standards have slipped. Disappointing!

Always grateful for menards employees... in the outside lumber Gary was beyond helpful, and in plumbing an older gentleman that was retiring soon was also extremely helpful.
I wish the store had a better grocery selection like the north ave location but im always coming here for stuff and a better deals. Only disappointment was recently the rebate mail in time was drastically shorter and I didn't know they did that, so I lost out on rebates and some times I don't get them back after ive sent them in...thats very frustrating/disappointing.

I'm currently remodeling my bathroom and needed some guidance on a few things. Jose Mendoza was incredibly knowledgeable and went above and beyond to assist me. He took the time to understand my ideas, offered excellent suggestions, and even researched additional options online to make sure I had the best choices available. His commitment to providing outstanding customer service was evident, and he guided me through every step of a process with which I was initially unfamiliar. I am extremely grateful for his assistance and will certainly return in the future, with the hope of working with Jose again. Thank you, and please continue the excellent work.
