Ana was very sweet and informative about what my total cost was. She was also kind and patient in answering my insurance and billing questions! Dr. Amoruso is always great! He’s very knowledgeable and welcomes any questions I have. I feel heard and might I say, seen!

I had a truly positive experience at MyEyeDr. in Chicago. I came in with a broken pair of glasses and, to my surprise, they repaired them free of charge, showing great kindness and genuine customer care. I also purchased a new pair of glasses and was very impressed by the professionalism and courtesy of the entire staff.
What I appreciated most was the way they combined exceptional courtesy with real attention to the customer. They made me feel listened to and supported throughout the entire process, while offering professional and competent advice that was perfectly tailored to my needs. It is rare to find such a balance of kindness, care, and expertise, and that made the whole experience outstanding.
I highly recommend MyEyeDr. to anyone looking for reliable, professional, and customer-oriented optical services in Chicago.

I communicated having anxieties about random fees to Lou at the front desk.
Upon being provided with the insurance breakdown (very confusing breakdown) with “exactly” what the out of pocket amount- Lou started to stumble and get very uncomfortable with me asking for the full breakdown total out of pocket for why appointment and why. Normally this shows that an institution is charging you non required but promoted standard of care options BEWARE. In the middle of me asking questions Lou firmly reacted with their anxiety instead of regulating and blurted out “can I finish” my jaw dropped. They apologized but honestly I was embarrassed for them and the practice so I left. IF YOU HAVE ANXIETY COMMUNICATING FINANCES- don’t work for a company asking you to up sell. I was given multiple different numbers and now my time has been wasted. Lou, do better. Patients and ethics come first prior to any sale you’re being directed to make. Lack of humane care and ethical treatment planning -go elsewhere , Lou really fit to the standard of a white women uncomfortable with an educated person of color asking questions.

Walked in and asked if I could just buy glasses with my insurance. I was told no since it had been a year since my last visit, so I booked an appointment. At the beginning of my check in someone at the front desk went over everything my insurance covered, then had me do a pre-exam. I assumed since I didn’t ask for anything outside of the normal exam and we already went over pricing everything was included. At the end of my treatment they added on an extra charge for “retina photos” that just gives the Dr. a deeper look into the eye. the Dr. examines all necessary parts of your eye anyway during your appt. I don’t wear glasses full-time, my eyes are healthy and the same prescription I was a year ago, so these deeper retina photos were totally unnecessary. I wasn’t asked if I wanted to add this on nor was I told it was an extra charge - it was just done without my knowledge and added on to my bill. The lady who checked me out said just to ask for them not to take the photos next time now that I know I can opt out. Feels scammy and ruined the experience, especially knowing my prescription was the same.

Timothy helped with getting stylish frames and the doctor over there is getting my vision updated. I am thankful for the online scheduling, getting me in within an hour was really important considering that location is busy. I just couldn't believe it! The staff here is also very friendly and the experience was marvelous.

I was able to schedule a quick and easy appointment at My Eye Dr and had a wonderful doctor’s visit. I couldn’t be happier with the eye care I received. Further, the staff was very kind with a payment issue I was having when I got there and were extremely helpful. Desiring to use my existing eyeglasses, I asked about placing new lenses into my existing pair. After inspecting them, it was recommended that they ship my eyeglasses to their lab instead of tracing the lenses in-house and placing the lenses in the store — this was to ensure that they be handled properly from beginning to end. Unfortunately, their lab broke my eyeglasses (which ironically is what we were tying to prevent from happening when I agreed to send them off). While I know accidents happen and staff shortages are real, this was communicated to My Eye Dr on Friday (this was shared with me by their staff after the fact) but I was not communicated about this until Tuesday. Further, I called My Eye Dr on Monday to check-in on the status of my eyeglasses. I had a lovely conversation with a staff person and was told that my eyeglasses had been shipped and that they should be ready for pick-up by Tuesday. However, the person I spoke to, I hope, did not see note from the lab, otherwise she flat out lied to me. When they finally informed me that they broke my eyeglasses at their lab, the staff person I spoke with was genuinely apologetic but did not offer any immediate solutions beyond telling me to come in and look around. If she would have taken the time to review my order she would have realized that I had brought in my own pair of eyeglasses. When I made this clear to her, she informed me that they would be happy to send out any new pair I brought in to their lab at no cost. After explaining to her that I would just have Moscot take care of the whole order (requiring me to buy new frames at $330 to replace the ones that they broke at their lab), she kept silent at which point I asked for a refund for the cost of the lenses I paid My Eye Dr. She said she would ask her manager about a refund, I’m happy to say that I promptly received a refund. More than anything I’m disappointed that my order was never properly reviewed: 1) when the lab sent a note on Friday informing them that my glasses were broken, I was not contacted 2) when I called on Monday, I was told that my glasses were shipped — if they had taken a minute or two to review my order they would have seen the note from their lab 3) when they called me on Tuesday to tell me that my eyeglasses were broken by their lab there was no solution beyond “you can come in and we can get you something.” Again, if they would have taken a minute or two they would have realized that this wasn’t going to be a solution in my case. At no point was I asked how much the glasses I brought in had cost me — I did share the amount hoping they would offer a store credit for the total amount or partial amount. I got no offer or even a symbolic gesture. I know there was no malice, but there was neglect in customer care and communication. I’m upset that a large national chain with multiple staff on deck would not properly check-in on my order when they were contacted by their own lab and by their client (me). While the pro at My Eye Dr is customer ease and integrated shopping, they need to train and prepare their staff to properly review orders before contacting customers and offer actual solutions to problems caused by their own mishap and mishandling. I won’t be retuning to My Eye Dr, which is sad given the overall appointment ease and quality eye care they’re able to offer clients. If you want integrated customer care and business responsibility, you’re better of going to a local optometrist.

First time at this location and left so happy and relieved. Friendly front desk staff, who welcomed me and got me in for an earlier appointment. Nicole also helped me get better pricing on my contacts. Appreciated the transparent pricing for my visit plus purchases. Dr. Amoruso adjusted my prescription, so my contacts finally felt comfortable. We tried two contacts for one eye to find the best fit. Highly recommend this doctor and this location!

It was a pleasure working with Timothy to choose glasses. I hadn’t planned on spending the time that day. He picked up on it, and was attentive but not pushy. I tried on several pairs in rapid succession. Thanks to his quick, honest feedback, I chose a pair in no time, confident I had done a thorough search. He knew his stuff. Pair after pair, I moved onto the next without even looking in the mirror, unless he had given a ‘thumbs up.’
