I used Open Path Realty to look for an apartment. From the start my agent was enthusiastic and accommodating. They worked with my schedule and made everything happen even when there were some delays on my end. Both Agustin Cuenca and Anna Durdica were professional and patient with the application process. I had been dreading the apartment hunting process but they made it easy and fun. I would recommend Open Path Realty to all of my friends and family!

Update: even though they say they fixed the water heater below, it is still broke. Still cold showers. Water heater has to be turned on and off to reset it daily. This is what companies do they reply that’s it’s resolved because you cannot reply to their reply. What a joke!
DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE. They completely ignore your requests for anything no matter how urgent it is. Initially they will be responsive when you are in the process of renting a place but once you sign the lease it’s like they take your money and move to a remote island. Our water heater has been broken for months and no response from them. Have you ever taken a cold shower? How about every day!?!?

They pulled rent from my credit card even though we had sublet apartment through them and they were paid the rent. The card was NOT on auto payment. We have been trying to get our money back since January 2nd. They don’t answer the phones or call back when husband tried to call.

Completely incompetent! Contacted the company 3 separate times for my paperwork. Twice via email directly to Durdica and once leaving a message. All times my requests went ignored. Called once again this morning 8/28 and spoke with Karina. Asked Karina for a copy of my lease to be sent over from the original email that was first sent to me. Just asked her to forward the original email, she then contacted my landlord behind my back. THAT WASNT MY REQUEST! All I asked for was for the original email with my lease to be forwarded.. if I wanted to contact my landlord, I would have contacted him directly. Completely didn’t listen to what my request is and did something I DID NOT ASK HER TO DO!! Very unprofessional, be very careful who you do business with. Definitely would NOT recommend OpenPath.

I absolutely loved working with Alicia! Her attention to detail is like no other. She was so pleasant navigating through this process, making sure she had a deep understanding of my asks and made me feel supported and at ease from start to finish. Finding a place to live can be a nightmare but she really made it a joy!! I am so grateful for all of her guidance and making sure I found somewhere that really felt like home for me.

Alicia last minute cancelled on a showing 2 times in a row. She lied to us directly on the phone saying she was on her way... Then just called back and said oops actually the apartment is already rented out. How dare you waste my time

Highly suggest reading this review before signing with Open Path: I am not someone who leaves reviews, but I felt the need to leave one about Open Path Realty. Working with OPR, specifically Hector has been the worst experience, to keep it blunt. We had countless issues within our unit: - Drier burning clothing and items - Water heater leaking - Water damage on ceiling - Keys to mailbox not working MOST OF WHICH ARE EXTREME SAFETY HAZARDS. We had to send countless emails, texts and calls. Most of which were not even answered. When I personally tried to address concerns with Hector I was talked down to, it was only when my boyfriend called that things happened. I felt a huge sense of misogyny when speaking with him. Always trust your intuition, like I should have trusted my own when looking through the reviews before moving into a unit that was under OPR. Our drier caused our clothes to burn the first week of moving in, while also setting off the fire alarm and carbon monoxide alarm. This issue came back a few months later. Instead of replacing the drier, which is a fire hazard, they would not. Finally after 7 months of living there it was replaced, but continued to burn our clothes up until we moved out. I had to call the fire department at some point because our carbon monoxide alarm was set off for the second time. As previous reviews have stated Hector does not hire in trained professionals to do the job correctly. Therefore, you will be left having to report the same issues over and over again. Hector and his maintenance people told me I was not drying the correct things... LOL are you kidding me? They also left the new drier in the middle of our unit for a week after continually changing the date of when it would be put in. We also had water damage on our ceiling and were told it would be looked at, but hadn't heard any updates about it after asking multiple times. Another large concern is that we were not notified some of the times OPR would be coming to our unit. I was once working from home and heard a knock on the door, while making my way to the door (which takes less than 10 seconds) Hector was already unlocking it! As a female, or anyone for that matter that is frightening and ILLEGAL! Hector is a liar, he lied countless times to us. So ALWAYS make sure to document conversations with him because he will come back and try telling you that "he never said that". We ended up having to break our lease early because we felt unsafe living in our unit. I won't go on, so I can save you some time, but if you take anything away from this let it be DO NOT SIGN WITH OPEN PATH REALTY. I also feel awfully terrible for the women working at the front desk.. she was great and made sure to always talk to us respectfully and address our concerns. And we also had great encounters with some of the other employees, so I won't speak down on those who were helpful to our situations.

Actually one of the worst living experiences I’ve had. I lived at 806 S Loomis st for 2 years.
In two different units I had rats come into our kitchen. It took over a week for the problem to be resolved, we had to constantly text asking when pest control was coming. In both units there were also leaky ceilings. I submitted work orders and nothing changed for a year, then they gave us a 3 hour notice before letting us know that roofers were gonna be working on our roof over the next few months. They left garbage and debris on my patio, sometimes for a couple days. Dirt would fall into the bed rooms for weeks and one time it was basically raining in the bedrooms. So many of my belongings were ruined and no payment or anything was offered. Do not rent from here.

Just got a great apartment with Open Path. Our agent Agustin was attentive and communicative, always keeping in mind our preferences and needs. He spoke up on our behalf and was friendly.
