Perfect in every way. Greeted by knowledgeable salesperson who explained how all their felt hats were made of beaver fur. We were not in the market for a hat at that time; however, as I stylist I sent info to a few clients encouraging them to make a worthwhile trip to Chicago for a hat. Or at least, buy the book.

I actually just wanted to take a look, as Optimo's hats are priced in a region that I usually don't prefer. I have various Borsalinos (straw and fur) and they are usually expensive enough. But when I entered the Optimo shop, it was all over me. We were greeted very friendly by ???????? and the small works of art were introduced to us with a lot of patience. With a cool drink (heat wave 06/2024) and the best jazz, I had a long time to decide.
We also got to talk to other very nice customers. The afternoon was a great experience.
If we come to Chicago from Germany again, my hat will definitely get a brother.

The hats are very expensive, but you get what you pay for. This shop does a lot of work with Hollywood, and they produce a very high quality product.

Beautiful hats but not exactly the customer service experience I was hoping for at that price point.I was ignored upon entering. The people who walked in after me were greeted then helped. I was scolded for touching one of the hats. Then I left.Not exactly the experience I was hoping for when you’re spending upwards of $1200 and shopping with a brand that offers customized products. Disappointing.Bought a custom beaver felt hat (similar price point) about a month ago in Atascadero, CA and had a much better experience, will take my business back to that retailer.

If you have NEVER had a custom-made pure beaver fedora, cowboy or porkpie hat made, you are in for a treat. Much better than the ready-made. off the rack variety you can get at a quarter of the price, and if you're a hat guy like me, it's a nice indulgence. If you HAVE had hats made for you, as I have had may times, this is a very nice hat, but not one of the top 2 or 3 custom jobs that I own. Good people, and a perfectly good product.

Unfortunately I don't know if they make quality hats or not, I was in town from approximately 600 miles away for New Years Eve, and was very excited to purchase myself a handcrafted piece of art for the Holiday's, but whoever was running the store at the time decided to lock the door just before I was able to open it, during business hours I might add, I don't have words for something so rude.
