Luxury historic atmosphere with a resort experience. The included driver services with Davonte were professional, timely, and friendly. The Doormen provide excellent hospitality.

This was the best stay I have ever had, front desk was super accommodating and informative. Service at the bar was fantastic, But I most enjoyed dinner at Venteux!!! The food was amazing but the bartenders and Shellfish chef were amazing!!! And you can't leave without straying the breakfast, the service was the best I've had!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Pendry Hotel in Chicago, and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. One of the standout features that immediately set the tone for my stay was their accommodating approach to check-in. The staff at the Pendry Hotel went above and beyond by allowing me to check in early, ensuring a seamless and convenient start to my visit. As an AMEX Platinum card holder, I was delighted to discover the exclusive advantages that came with my membership at this hotel. The Pendry Hotel not only recognized my card status but also made sure to enhance my stay with additional perks and privileges. From special amenities to personalized services, being an AMEX Platinum card holder truly added a layer of luxury to my time at the Pendry. The hotel itself is a haven of sophistication and comfort. The stylish decor, attention to detail, and modern amenities provided a perfect blend of opulence and functionality. The rooms were impeccably designed, offering a serene retreat amidst the vibrant energy of Chicago. Also, the toiletries smell amazing! So much so that I had to buy some before I left.Overall, my stay at the Pendry Hotel in Chicago was a truly delightful experience. The early check-in flexibility and the exclusive benefits for AMEX Platinum card holders added a touch of luxury that set this hotel apart. I highly recommend the Pendry Hotel to anyone seeking a sophisticated and pampering stay in the heart of Chicago.

Lovely hotel - amazing location- the women at the front desk were more than accommodating when we had to stay an extra day due to our flight being canceled because of weather conditions- i went downstairs to ask for a toothbrush & when i was going back upstairs my card wouldn’t work- i told the man downstairs the situation and he actually had me SPELL my 1st name to prove i was an actual guest (my full 1st name is complicated)- I’ve never been so irritated in life- never will i stay here again.

Had an amazing staycation with our young children. Perry was so accommodating with our family and made sure we had everything we needed. The front desk had a wagon full of stuffies for my toddlers to choose from, specialty drinks and a credit for the bar. Room service was quick and really good food. The suite was large enough for my kids to run around and had enough space for everyone to have room to relax. Beautiful building and wonderful staff. Would definitely recommend and will be returning.Walkability: Walked to state st for shopping and magnolia bakery.

Beware AMEX Customers!Overall, my wife and I were disappointed with the Pendry Chicago. As a customer of Amex Platinum for the past six years, I have always taken advantage of staying at Fine Hotel & Resorts, including for my wedding ceremony, and every hotel has exceeded my expectations. As an Amex card holder, other hotels have made me feel like a valued guest and, in some instances, a celebrity. Unfortunately, The Pendry Chicago has missed this mark.I was already hesitant about booking here after reading multiple reviews on Google that the hotel did not offer upgrades for Amex customers. To my dismay, this was also the case with me. I arrived at the hotel at 8:00 am on the morning of check-in and asked if it would be possible to check in this early. The front desk concierge stated I could check in. She mentioned nothing about being an Amex customer or an upgrade. I asked her if there was an upgrade available since it was so early in the morning, and if there wasn't, I would be willing to wait to check in until one became available. I was immediately shot down and told that no upgrades were open today. I even called the Amex travel line and had them contact the front desk to ensure that there were no upgrades, and the Amex representative was met with the same denial from another front desk concierge.I settled for the standard king room, which was still lovely; but small, and with little view. The rest of the stay was pleasant until I went to check out. I asked multiple times throughout my stay before any meal or purchase what would be included in my Fine Hotel and Resort benefits. I was told I had $60 for breakfast and $100 to use at any other hotel facilities or restaurants. We were told incorrect information multiple times in regards to how much money remained for the benefit, to the point where I was told by one attendant I had $20 remaining, only to find a -$20 charge on my account. Had I known I had used my entire benefit, I would not have spent the $20 I had believed to have remained. In short, the hotel concierge seemed lackadaisical, uninformed, and frankly rude toward Amex customers. I felt uncomfortable any time I asked questions to the concierge due to being met with frustration on their behalf, as if I was a nuisance.Amex has been informed of my complaint, and pending an investigation into their partnership and significant retraining of the Pendry Chicago staff, I recommend Amex customers to look elsewhere to use their credit when staying in downtown Chicago.

Stayed here since I have the Capital One VX and this hotel was part of the premier collection. Before I explain what I didn't like, I would like to give a shout out to the people working at the front desk who were exceptional. Really appreciated being able to check-in early. Now, for the rest of it: My go-to hotel in Chicago has always been LondonHouse but this time I thought I'd give Pendry a shot. However, despite it being more expensive, it was nowhere near as good an experience as LondonHouse (with the Hilton Honors Gold benefits through the Amex Platinum card).Wi-Fi - Despite free wifi being advertised, it is limited to 5 devices per reservation which was annoying since there were 2 of us, and I was oncall for work, so I needed my work devices connected too.Breakfast - Despite advertising breakfast as being included, we only got a $40 credit for 2 people which was not even enough for a generic breakfast + coffee. Also the restaurant staff were horrible. Not only were they rude, it was also always a battle to get seated at a table. The restaurant was empty but the waiter refused to seat us due to 'reservations' that never showed up (see picture).Rooms - The view was directly into people's apartments and the TV was so laggy that it was almost unusable (see pictures).Misc availability-based Capital One benefits - Late checkout wasn't offered, did not get an upgrade, used the $100 credit at the rooftop restaurant which was underwhelming but that was recouped by the hotel through resort fees that I didn't know about (my bad for not reading all the terms).TLDR: I wasted my money, I should have just gone to LondonHouse instead.

Service was atrocious, had reservations at the restaurant, waited about 10 mins at the host stand for anyone to show up, got sat then waited another 15 min with no one stopping by so we left. Ordered room service for breakfast waited over 2 hrs with nothing being brought so canceled that and went to elsewhere. Service at the bar was top notch.

I really enjoyed our stay at the Pendry Hotel in Chicago. I have always admired the Art Deco design of the Carbide and Carbon building, and staying there in person was a truly remarkable experience. The rooms exude wonderful period inspired elegance and style, and provides a welcome escape for a long weekend getaway.Safety: Quite safe in my opinion did not have any public safety concerns.Walkability: It's located in a very walkable area

This hotel is gorgeous! The bellhops, valet, and entire staff were phenomenal. Genuinely some of the kindest people I’ve interacted with while traveling. Highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a beautiful place to stay downtown.
