“I feel like insurance companies can get a bad reputation sometimes and people will only leave comments when they have bad interactions with them, so I’ll share my good one to at least help people get the full picture. My 7 year old Boxer was recently diagnosed with cancer, we caught it early, had the tumor rumored from his leg, and quickly started chemotherapy as it was an aggressive form of cancer. Between the tests, surgery, medications, and treatments the bills added up quickly as you can imagine. I filed my claims with Figo, they requested a lot of documentation from my vets (which is normal for large claims) and might have taken a bit longer than usual to process but approved everything within a few weeks. I’ve honestly never had an issue with them and have always been treated fairly on my policy. I will make a suggestion for anyone considering pet insurance, get the policy when you first get your animal, as young as possible and keep it current their whole life. This is usually the biggest obstacle for people with pet insurance, the only way to truly guarantee yourself coverage is to buy your policy as close to birth for your animal as possible and keep that policy with the same company (if you can) their whole life. If you’ve paid into the policy for 5-7-10 years and something major happens to your animal there’s really no excuse for them not to cover you. My dog Charlie is doing well and Figo continues to support us, praying he beats this and lives a full life as he’s an amazing dog. Grateful to Figo for the support and coverage.”
