I wanted to revisit my thoughts on Play to emphasize the importance of shopping small. First and foremost, I've always had a positive experience with the staff. They are knowledgeable and genuinely helpful when you’re looking for gifts for others. Additionally, I witnessed a special moment when a delivery driver from UPS arrived. The store asked for his name, and then they gave him a small present from the owner! This kind of personal touch doesn’t happen at large retailers like Target or Walmart. I’m committed to shopping here even more from now on!

I have been going in this store in Lincoln Park quite some time but today the young girl was extremely unhelpful and actually rude. I don’t want to judge a store by its workers, but it does have a meaning. Most workers have been very helpful but this time, the opposite. Toys are generally expensive there which I’m typically ok with, but not for that kind of service. I tried contacting the owner but there was no way to do so, hence my review.

Great cute little store with a large selection of toys for different age groups. The best parts though, are the Friendly staff and Free gift wrapping. A great place to buy children’s gifts from.

Play had a game in stock that I wanted to get for my granddaughter but I couldn’t get there for a couple of days and they had only one of them in stock. The clerk said that they would gladly hold it for me until I came in a couple days later. When I came in to pick it up the game was set aside for me in back of the counter with my name on it and as always they were very friendly and offered to wrap the toy as a gift if I wanted. Their service and selection is consistently excellent and that is why Play is my first choice for toys, games, and books. I further believe that small businesses, that provide relevant products and services, and deliver excellent customer service, are important in building the foundation of a healthy and viable community. Play is one of those excellent additions to our community and they have earned my business. I would highly recommend!

Buy your gifts here,,, And be the favorite Uncle/Aunt.This store is amazing. The Collection of toys are great, Wall clocks even better.Starting off with the toys. Let's face it. Most of the toys in any store are pretty much the same. This place curates some truly unique toys for kids of any age group. And I am not kidding, They actually have toys that are a little different. There is a stuffed doll of a cartoon crow wearing a crownThe Wall Clocks are my favorite. Amazing and fun.Now comes for the main reason i like this place. The people. always sweet, friendly. Always happy to help. And the gift wrapping is free, but even if they charge for it in the future I wouldn't mind. It's just so well done. They are open on Xmas eve for last minute awesome gifts.A solid home run for a toy store.Buy your gifts here,,, And be the favorite Uncle/Aunt who didn't get the gift from target/Walmart.

We came in here for our nieces birthday gifts and it is such a magical fun store! The person working there was so knowledgeable about options for different ages and interests. They have so many great options and they will ever wrap your gifts for free! I thought the prices were fair and worth it for the quality of toys. We will definitely come back here for future gifts it was such a great experience!

This place is AWESOME. I left with a few things that I wouldn’t have found without the help of Sarah and Isa. Good music, great selection, a really good smelling candle in there too. Overall just a great store. FOR ALL AGES, may I add!!!

Amazing. I was visiting a friend and promised my kids I'd bring them something home. Found this shop in walking distance. You enter to a very inviting space with an amazing selection for a variety of ages. I was buying for a 2 and a 5 year old and had a hard time narrowing it down to something that would fit in my luggage. They do beautiful gift wrapping and the owner and employee were both wonderfully friendly as I talked their ears off. I'm not sure it's noteworthy to others but I love that they carry Playmobil so wanted to mention that here as well.

This place is a dream for both children and adults. Play’s owner is kind, thoughtful and has curated a collection of books and toys that is inclusive, honed clearly with all types of families and people in mind. The store assistants are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Major shout out to Edward who helped me shop for last minutes Diwali gifts (he even offered to wrap them in Diwali colors). His thoughtfulness is why we made another trip to play during the holidays and will continue to shop there. In the era of online shopping, Play is a breath of fresh air. Highly recommended and will be sharing my experiences with friends.

Such a wonderful shop in the community. You can love it just for the shop and what it holds, but the people who make it a reality are pretty special too. You can walk through the door with no clue what to buy as a gift and within moments you will be guided through some really quality options by the staff and even wrap it up with paper and a bow!I love this toy store…and their two additional locations in Logan Square and Andersonville too!
