PBLS is the best studio anywhere. The teachers are amazing. They challenge each student every class at the same time they are ensuring each class is fun and the atmosphere supportive of where you are in your personal health & fitness journey. Kim is an owner committed to ensuring her teachers and clients are happy & supported. I encourage anyone on a health & fitness journey to sign up at PBLS. This place is great - thanks to all of you who endure that “tuck & burn” are challenging & fun!

Some instructors help with form in smaller classes but bigger classes like evenings there isn’t too much help. The room smells like feet, body odors, and too crowded. I feel like because they have class pass drop ins they lose track of capacity. The monthly is $179/m unlimited but I know another place for $149/m smaller classes (unless it’s weekends) with showers , free soaps , toiletries and 4 hour cancellation window . Plus no rigid payment plans. Barre3 in west loop. This place should clean their rug because either smells so bad.

I waited some time to write this review because if I had written it right after my experience at Pure Barre, it would have been much harsher. Even now, with a clearer head, I’m still deeply disappointed—and frankly, shocked—by how I was treated.
Exercise is more than just physical movement for many of us—it’s a core part of mental health and emotional regulation. That’s why I was excited to try Pure Barre after hearing so much buzz about it. What I encountered instead was a space completely lacking in compassion, flexibility, or any understanding of the human experience.
This was supposed to be my very first class. I accidentally left my gym shoes at work, 45 minutes away, and when I called ahead to cancel, I was told not to worry—shoes weren’t required. So, I drove in heavy Chicago traffic to make it there, arriving just one minute after the start time: 5:46 PM for a 5:45 class.
I was immediately told I could not enter. I explained this was my first time, that I had called ahead, and that I had just driven nearly an hour to be there. The response? A cold “no exceptions.” When I asked to speak to a manager, the front desk employee didn’t even try to help. There was no apology. No understanding. Just stone-faced enforcement of a policy I wasn’t informed of.
This isn’t about being one minute late. It’s about being met with zero empathy in a place that markets itself as a community built on strength and support. Instead, what I found was a rigid, transactional operation that seems more focused on policy enforcement than on people.
This experience was not only frustrating—it was mentally destabilizing. I left feeling ashamed, dismissed, and completely unseen. If Pure Barre cannot offer basic human decency to a first-time visitor in distress, then they are not a wellness brand—they are a business hiding behind a wellness façade.
I will not be returning, and I sincerely hope this serves as a wake-up call for leadership to reflect on the kind of culture they’re fostering.

It was my first time taking this class and amazing! The classic was a great class for beginners. The staff was so nice and they knew it was my first class. The instructor Jessie came up to me and asked if there was any pain points or what I wanted to work on. The girls that go are also friendly. Overall great experience and now going to come here on a weekly basis.

This is the first work out routine Ive found that really works for me- the classes are fun and challenging, the instructors are supportive and personable, and most importantly I noticed physical changes in my body in a relatively short period of time. Pure Barre Logan Square does a great job of creating a sense of community among their members. Highly recommend!

The PBLS community is just the best! Kim the owner, the super talented instructors, and friendly and diverse members really make this place such a wonderful place to stay active. I love seeing the same faces almost every morning to start my day. Empower and Define are my favorite classes and have made me stronger than ever.

It was my first time taking a barre class and OOF! Am I feeling it! Great workout. The instructor, Becca, was really kind and welcoming after she found out it was my first time. She did a great job of showing us how to do the moves while also walking around the room to motivate and challenge us individually. The studio definitely gives off a nice community vibe and I really look forward to returning.

All of the instructors are incredibly kind. Both the instructors as well as the fellow pure barre goers make you feel welcome regardless of your familiarity with the workouts. I love working out here. I highly recommend that you come tuck it out✨
