It is very much open! The best place for a drink and a healthy bite to eat! Ask for Andy the bartender, he’s great! Beers, wine and specials for happy hour! Best stop near the intersection!

Whole foods is a grocery store, I do shop here often buying what I need for my meals. they carry many items and foods for my food issues with garlic. The cake slices or baked treats are yummy. My older sister got me hooked on garbage cookies. They are filled with 3 types of chocolate and other good things like pretzels, and nuts. These are big and lumpy. And so good. Then I found a Vegan brand of cookies by Hilary Cookies made in Chicago, too! and very tasty. I will search for them at the farmer's market near me.

They have INSANE deals on whiskey such as a $10 shot of Johnnie Walker Blue Label!

OK honestly the bar inside Whole Foods has no right to be this cool... It was convenient for our purposes and yet I remained skeptical until the exceptional service, excellent draft beer/cider/kombucha selection, and surprisingly affordable and delicious food menu all won me over. Don't hesitate to hang out here just because it's inside Spaceman Jeff's grocery emporium

Hmm. Something is awry here. The beer options have kind of tanked and employees seem glum. Perhaps a pep talk is in order. WF, we know you are owned by Jeff bezos, but that's not your fault. Time to get back in the game! We need an option for humanely sourced things, you know? Ps, please bring back IPAs. Only 5 percent of people want sours. ( ok, I made up that stat, but it seems about right). Thank you.

Always wanted to check out this place while grabbing groceries, but never found the time. I finally headed there last Saturday just for lunch and a beer. Was pleasantly surprised by the $3 local draft specials (that day only) -- if you like sours, highly rec Galactic Coyote. Had 2 for $6. Then I tried my first beyond meat burger, which was rec'd by the friendly bartender. I'm hooked. Will def be back, possibly later today :)

Awesome Whole Foods bar upstairs! Go during the tap takeovers for your fav brewery. Great prices for local craft beers and food!

Pros and cons to this location. Usually a fantastic beer selection, with daily specials making it a great place to try new beers, especially Mon and Thur, at very affordable pricing. I'd wager some of the best pricing in Chicago. But service can be spotty. And during busy times they seem very understaffed with only one server. But overall, hard to beat being able to shop with your favorite beverage.

Cool to grab a drink in Whole Foods. Good specials. Some of the bartenders are slow to give you a menu & a little rude if you aren't familiar with every craft beer. Some are great. Would have been 5 stars if I haven't had to deal with jerks more than once.

I never thought one of my favorite bars in the neighborhood would be inside a Whole Foods store - yet Red Star Bar has become just that. They have an excellent rotating beer menu, and the prices are more than reasonable. This really surprised me since the Whole Foods grocery stores are generally very expensive. Most of the beers are $4 -$5 and we're talking about craft beers - not PBR and Hamms. They usually have plenty of opinions for the area's top microbreweries. Also, I'll let you in on a little secret - the $2 mystery beer mighty be the best beverage bargain in Chicago. For $2, the server picks a random beer from the fridge. I've gotten stuff from Revolution, Bells, and several other great craft breweries. Most of the mystery beers would be around $7 at most Chi-Town bars - so it's a steal - especially for those who drink a wide variety of beer. Sure, the ambiance it's all that great. After all, it's in the middle of a grocery store. That being said, the value and beer selection makes up for the scenery.

I like Red Star-it's a nice way to have a drink and get some shopping done. HUGE selection of rotating draught beer to choose from. The beers range from pilsners to stouts, international, national and local craft beer. The bartenders are knowledgeable of what they're serving. You can, in some cases, find the beer you've been enjoying during your shopping trip in the beer aisle to take home. It's possible to get food from the prepared food area next door to the bar to enjoy in the bar area. AND, on Mondays local draughts are only $3!!!

Ok. So it's in a Whole Foods. But what better way to equip you to brave the crowds than a pint of really good beer chosen among 32 taps?

Amazing beers on tap and very reasonable prices. Many barrel-aged beers on tap for only $4 which is crazy!

On Thursday's they have $4 drafts, which is a very good deal for the city! The bartenders are friendly, the music is very good, and they have a variety on drafts.
