It's great for those who need a place to lay their heads & shower! But you have to decide if fighting mice, rodents, living with thieves, liars, and criminals, and inhaling black mold damaging the respiratory of your body or your child's is worth it!!! Because the majority of the shelters within their directory I have had to contend with 3 or all of these issues simultaneously! And not one case manager EVER helped me with housing the entire time!!!
It's a cycle full of SCAMS! I've been in this for months and not 1 family has ever been placed in housing/apartment!

If I could give zero stars I would, the shelter itself is very clean, I love how the rooms are set up. The workers mainly the women there made it horrible. The guys were very chill and helpful. I couldn't get a pack of diaper , the women would literally give me 5 diapers while the guys would give me a pack. I understand if there's a lot of families with small kids so yeah of course I have to get little diapers.i ask for formula and they told me they don't have any. Why they don't make sure that they are stocked up so us women with kids can get something. We didn't even get a hygiene kit. Shannon was very rude and very unprofessional and don't forget about our case manager she didn't help with anything 😕 corporate really needs to investigate and retrain the women they hire. The women talk to you like your dirt. Just because people are in a shelter doesn't mean you can be a butt hole to them. The shelter can be great if all the women are gone especially Shannon.

Good energy. good attitudes.. very friendly. Yes you have to go to the process of calling 311 and this is temporary so they can help find a more stable shelter that fits your needs..

The building is very nice... But the staff are horrible. They are sleeping with clients. And If you have issues they advise you to turn the other cheek or they hurry up and transfer you . It's just a holding center for a homeless shelter they don't even give assistance for housing here.

If you're white, you're literally last on the list. Read that again, if you're white they will literally boldly and confidently lie to you, tell you nothing is available while actually servicing persons of color on the phone every time you call. They are in a 1970s mindset here. If you're white and want a shelter bed, call 311 claim to be black and have a black friend do all phone contact with them. Super racist staff here. Don't believe me? Try it as a white person, then submit a ticket as a black person....watch which ticket gets a response, it won't be the white ticket I promise you that. Ms Cobb is about the only staff member here who doesn't play those games.

This place is located in the area of Chicago where people who live in the community nearby, need help the most. Yet, when a person shows up, who is in need of an actual help, for instance being able to use the bathroom after traveling 45 minutes in the car to get there, or being able to speak with someone about services they provide and how to sign up, they completely change up their helping attitude. The woman "Captain" who works there, immediately says NO. Perhaps that's why most folks don't trust services like these.
