DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! The movers broke my $1000 TV and the claim management company they use only offered me $30. The claim company then told me to call Smooth Relocation to see if they will offer me more money… Smooth Relocation wont answer or return my calls. They charged me $3000 for my move. I will contact the BBB tomorrow.

Undoubtedly the most malicious and dishonest company I have ever had the displeasure of doing business with. Look up the term ‘rogue moving company’ and you’ll get a summary similar to how I feel business was conducted during my move. Prices were significantly increased during the time of service and I wasn’t made aware of what I was paying until my furniture was already loaded up. I recommend you look up reviews regarding this company on other websites, including the Better Business Bureau, before giving them any of your money. One of their selling points is taking away the stress out of moving - it couldn’t be further from the truth.

My Sales rep was Jannah and she was extremely thorough and responsive. All the guys here are hardworking and move quick. Nothing of mine was broken, and it was delivered promptly. Nice work!
was debating between 3-4 stars.
The quality of communication suffered a bit from Jannah after the pick up.
I understand Jannah doesn't have the dispatch information and their system gives more value to Dispatch communicating directly with the customer to uncover their needs, but I missed Jannah so much.
She is the kindest person I have ever spoke to.

They did a good job, communication could have been better in the end but everything arrived in tact and as promised. I would recommend them and my advice is listen to your sales rep when they say tell me what you are moving. I gave them everything including vacuums and I didn't have to pay anything more. Thank you Janna and the team

We had Smooth Relocation Vanlines come out to move us from a condo to a house. The staff was professional and helpful from the very beginning when making booking on the phone with Jannah, and on moving day, the crew was efficient and incredibly competent. The movers were right on time, worked well as a team, and were very friendly! They worked super hard and took great care in wrapping and moving our furniture. I would definitely hire them again and I'd most certainly recommend them to friends/family! Thanks for a great experience!!

Do not give these people your phone number or information. They will call you everyday. Just got off the phone with a creepy man who called me “dear” and would not agree to take me off his call list. Please learn to respect the people you are calling.

Like all the 1 star reviews, this is very over priced relocation company. Every item you did not put on the initial quote will be charged extra. I had 15 stairs to my second story apartment so they charge extra for any stairs more than 13. They box everything up and put it in the storage truck and tell you what the extra is. I was quote $2350 to move 745 miles. After everything said and done I was charged $3800. I will never use this moving company or any other company. I should have just move it my self.

I only had 4 pieces of bedroom furniture total, out of a truckload of plastic bins. EVERY PIECE OF FURNITURE WAS SCRATCHED BADLY OR CORNERS BROKEN OFF ENTIRELY. Last minute truck dilemma on their part, couldn't use their truck in the new location, too big (lie re: Property Mgr said, no problem). An extra $800.00 up front or wouldn't get my shipment. Paid and moved into new location. I had to supply one person labor to help the truck driver move (only one who showed up). After the whole thing was done, they offered me $28.00 total for cost of furniture damage. The man in the beginning, Brian out of Chicago, was so nice and empathetic because I was a Widow.
JUST AWFUL ☠️☠️☠️

George was extremely friendly and gave me a very honest price comparison to help us accomplish moving in the way that best suited our needs rather than upselling me when he very easily could have!

Do not hire this moving company for a long distance move. This company will charge you more money after their movers load your belongings. Please make sure you read the fine print on your contract before you hire. They won't tell you anything, they just have you sign, while you are being distracted by Rafel. He was not supposed to tell me my charges were 2k more BEFORE movers start loading their truck. He did not wait. They come and pick up your belongings in a small moving truck. Then they transfer all your belongings to a POD and your belongings will sit in a POD until they find a driver that is driving to the state you are moving to. After they find a driver than the transfer your belongings to the 18 wheeler. So much extra work, not to mention how your belongings can get lost or broken with all the transfers to POD and back to truck. Beware, they take advantage of a senior woman. If I wanted my BELONGINGS IN a POD, I Would not have hired smooth relocations. I am not a happy camper at this point. I am in the state they are bringing my belongings to and my belongings are sitting in a POD in the state I was living in. It's now been 7 days in the POD. Why would they pick up my belongings, if they didn't have a truck driver to deliver it. Absolutely Ridiculous! So far I have paid 6400.00 and I still owe them money upon delivery. My estimate originally was 4505.00.
Upon calling them today, I spoke to a woman that told me, if you are rude, I will be rude back. No empathy what so ever. Customer service I received was disgraceful. Due to them having my belongings stored for 9 nine days, I am sleeping on the floor and I don't know when my furniture will be delivered. Not to mention they count the days they have your belongings for BUSINESS days and not calendar days. They are rude to you because they want to, they have your belongings, what are you going to do. They picked up my belongings on 8/14/25. Today is 8/22/25, I still don't have my stuff. Who wouldn't angry. I was told to call back on 8/27/2025 and they MAY have an update for me. First, they have to inspect the truck that they are delivering my items in. Large company, there trucks be should be ready to go. I've been told over and over again, the delay is due to me having more boxes. None of this makes any sense. They got their money, they have your stuff and they don't care how long you have to wait. My furniture finally arrived. They lost the support system for my bed. I will be sleeping on the floor again. My bedroom set was new and they lost the piece. I can't believe it. I am so angry. It will take them forever to get a new bed piece. I am certain they won't get me the piece. I have videos of how they left my belonging and how my bed piece is missing. Never again, don't end up angry like me. If Smooth Relocations would like the video's, I can send. I paid 6400.00 for this mess. Smooth relocations called me this morning and told me that I cannot file a claim for my major piece to my bed bc I didn't sign the contract. I didn't have time to read the fine print while Movers are throwing my boxes around. My plastic containers were busted and boxes were damaged and many of my dishes were broken in several pieces. My air fryer is also missing. My laptop is missing. I am really
angry now. How they expect you to tell them what is missing before movers leave is ridiculous. You can't do it, thats what they want you to do. What absolute ignorance. To sum it up....don't even think about hiring this company. If you do want major pieces of your furniture or belongings to go missing, then hire them. If you want your move to cost 6400.00, then hire them. I will not recommend them to anyone.

My partner and I hired Smooth Relocation Van Lines to help us move from Chicago to Houston in October, and the experience was anything but smooth. Despite specifically choosing this company after extensive research and being reassured multiple times that they would handle our move directly, they subcontracted the job out to another company without informing us.
That alone would’ve been frustrating enough, but the real issues started when they cross-stocked our belongings into a different van. Several of our items were damaged during the move — some irreparably — and we followed all of their protocols to document and report the damage to file a claim. Despite submitting everything requested and following up more than six times via phone and email, we’ve been completely ignored. Zero resolution. Zero accountability. Zero communication.
We hired Smooth Relocation Van Lines because they promised to be professional and reliable. Instead, they outsourced our move, damaged our things, and ghosted us when we tried to seek compensation. I’m posting this review in the hope that it finally spurs them into action — but mostly to warn others. Don’t make the same mistake we did.
Move Order #100593XX
UPDATE:
They offered us $18.00 for the damage they caused. UNREAL!

The most dishonest business I’ve dealt with in this country. Don’t use this company. I have never reviewed one single company in my life. So take the fact that I’m here and reviewing this one as your sign from heaven. Don’t use them.
I did not do my due diligence and read reviews and that’s on me.
My quote was $1800. There are so many hidden fees and in the end, I paid $3950. If you tell me up front the cost will be $4k, no problem. But to purposely misinform is downright dishonest.
Off to report them to the BBB. Then look into suing. If you’re going to be on the phone with them, record the call.
You will see so many comments like mine regarding extra hidden fees. They are predators. If you use them, it’s on you. We warned you.
