We were visiting Chicago with my husband and happened to stop by at this store. I’m a big Le Creuset lover and all though they didn’t have a huge selection in the store Felicia made our visit absolutely amazing! I’m almost positive that she was running a cooking class at the time we were there yet still took her time to welcome us, share some knowledge and even show us a beautiful bread she baked in a Le Creuset bread oven! Her warmth and enthusiasm for cooking and customer service she provided was nothing short from AMAZING! Thank you Felicia! You are a GEM and this store is lucky to have you!

Took a cooking class here on Christmas Eve. It was fun, but expensive at $99/person. I'm sure a big part of that was because we made beef wellington, which isn't cheap.Instructor was really fun and cool, and I learned a few techniques, but not as much as I've learned in other cooking classes. He was mostly telling us what to do versus showing us.It would have been nice if there had been a table for us to sit down and enjoy the meal afterward like I've had at cooking classes and other cities. Instead, we had to stand and eat. Also, it would have been cool if we could have taken leftovers home considering how much we paid. Not sure I would take another class here again unless it was less expensive.

Sur La Table Saves Christmas! In the hectic preparations to host family on Christmas Eve, I realized I needed a kitchen torch for the Eggnog Crème Brûlée. To save time, even though we live within a mile of this store, I ordered it for same day delivery. It arrived, with no butane. Zut! I called and the manager, who had actually prepared my order, told me he shared my frustration. He explained how everything worked and held a canister for me. I walked in the rain to pick it up and, to my surprise, when I arrived he handed it to me and said, “Merry Christmas!” He absolutely did not need to be so kind; its service and quality like this that make me a Sur La Table devotee. Cheers! ??

I attempted to schedule a cooking class for my wife and I for a romantic Christmas gift. I visited this location in person and was brushed off by two different sales associates.I attempted to call this location and received the same non-existent customer service treatment. The store needs to improve customer service to compete with online shopping . However you blew a $200 Christmas sale Sur La

This review is about Sur La Table's customer service in general --They did not answer their phone when I attempted to call during their normal support hours. A ticket I submitted for support on an order I made did not receive a response until over 3 weeks after I made the ticket even though I followed up asking for updates several times. The issue in particular was in relation to a product I received not matching the product description of the item I ordered. Sur La Table updated the description AFTER I submitted my ticket and then in their eventual follow up weeks after I submitted my ticket attempted to claim that the product I ordered was what they updated the description to be refusing to honor my original order.Horrible support and shady business practices.

My husband and I attended a cooking class on November 4th, instructed by Chef Eric. It was so much fun and informative. We did Date night: steak the tuscan way. In class, we cooked pan roasted flank steak, homemade tagliatelle pasta, and vanilla ice cream with nutella (I wanted a pint to take home). Everything was so good, especially the homemade pasta. Chef Eric was a great instructor. The class is hands and if it is a full class you will be 4 at a station which was ok. It's also byob. There was a 10-minute break, and we took the time to browse the store and left with new cutting boards and serving cups. We will definitely be taking another class with Chef Eric. Next time, salmon

I took the “Americas Favorites” cooking class for a friends birthday and it was great. It was my friends first time cooking, so Eric did a tremendous job of making sure he went over all the steps and even went into detail explaining why the steps should be taken and giving us some food science facts! A great class and that was specifically because of Eric’s personality and love for cooking. We would definitely come back again!

Located on Michigan Avenue, this third floor cooking school has an intimate kitchen and kitchen supply area. Students of class get 10% discount for supplies. This was the first time I was student here. I with three others split a chicken, buttered it with thyme, pan fried one side and baked it. The biscuits were mixed and I molded them into four smooth biscuits. Ours was only ones with no wild bulges. The sauces were made for chicken, salad and biscuits. The salad was simply made with arugula and halved grapes. This class is not for low calorie dieters. The meal was remarkable. The secret ingredient was butter, butter, and more butter. Unfortunately diners can't take food home. I would take another class. Parking with validation is $10 for three hours. Afterwards it is $40 or $50.

Derwitt is rude and condescending. For someone who works in retail, shouldn't your job to be helpfuland not offensive to your customers ? In store retail is dying because of employees like him. there's a reason the store is always empty.

Wanted to leave this review to acknowledge the special efforts / customer service by Gregory! Came in here to purchase a pot/pan set. The display area for pots and pans here is extensive, you really get to see and feel all of the different options, and there are so many more options available for viewing/purchase than at Williams & Sonoma Lincoln Park which had almost no displays. I decided on a 12 piece set and was assisted by Gregory, who also offered to help me bring the set down to my car. Unfortunately I realized my wife had parked 3 blocks away and turned the car off but I had the key fob with me, so Gregory rolled the cart with all the pots/pans these blocks to my car. Wow! What a friendly guy and extremely helpful service. I look forward to returning for what smelled like a great cooking class as well. Thanks guys!

Store has nice selection of kitchen items. They offer cooking classes as well and give complementary water with mint for customers.

My husband and I did a cooking class here, and while its a nice experience, I don't think it was worth the price. Most of the lesson, someone was just narrating what we should do, as opposed to showing us. For this being a sushi class, there was way more vegetables used and very little actual fish... Again, fun experience, nice people, but I don't think the value was all there.
