Paid $35 for an eggplant parmesan dish. The pasta tasted like it was from a box - at this price point, not having freshly made pasta is crazy. The tomato sauce tasted like it was from a jar or poorly made from scratch. I don’t like a lot of breading so removed it from the two pieces of eggplant I received, and the two slices of eggplant were paper thin. All in all my dish was very overpriced. My friend ordered the salmon vesuvio and had a similar reaction - poorly cooked and overpriced. The ambiance of the place is fine and I imagine the only reason it’s still around is because it’s within walking distance of a lot of residences and it has a nice patio.

Farfalle dish was not fresh made; seemed to be reheated under heat lamp; pasta was not even al dente; smoked chicken was dry; overpriced; service was slow; busser kept interrupting; definitely a place I would not choose

Great neighborhood spot, and I am thrilled that the farfalle with smoked chicken and spinach is back on the menu! Probably my favorite pasta in Chicago.

Some of the best Italian in Chicago. An absolute classic.Off menu - order the veal parmigiana. The rigatoni is delicious, as is the black linguine.Restaurant is good for big groups, birthdays, work dinners, etc.Good cocktails and wine list.Patio is nice in summer months. Inside is cozy in the winter.

Crowded Friday night and either the owners just don't care anymore or they can't staff. Service was terrible and slow. Bartender could not get drinks out. Calamari app had a good breading but they either don't buy from a fresh purveyor of fish, or over cook it because it was rubbery and stale. We ordered drinks/wine to have with dinner and did not get them for 20 minutes until we finished eating. I ordered one of their specials, black linguini with mussels and shrimp. 3 out of 7 mussel shells they served me were empty. Bad service and food for elevated prices for below average pasta. Maybe I'm spoiled eating Italian in Chicago, but Tarantino's fails on all fronts.

I have no idea why people decide to dine here. Sure, the ambiance is lovely and the candlelight and friendly service is enticing, but the food is downright awful. It's almost like a trap. I came here with several friends when our reservation for another restaurant fell though, and none of us liked the food or drinks. We all ordered something different from the menu, both in pasta and cocktails, and were greatly disappointed. We shared our food and drinks amongst the table to gain a second or even third opinion, but the verdict was clear. This was nearly inedible. The drinks were weirdly over-herbal or tasted like chemicals? The food was not cooked properly or prepared correctly. However, the reason why I give this place two stars instead of one, is because the dessert was admittedly exquisite. The sigh of relief that swept across the group upon our first bites. The biggest turn around of the night. We shared tiramisu and crème brûlée amongst the table and reveled in a happy ending to our disastrous dinner. It was a delightful surprise indeed. Although, I highly suspect that dessert is what's keeping this place in business. The staff was wonderful, humorous, helpful, and friendly. The ambiance was high class, romantic, old fashioned, and Italian. The dessert was delectable and mouth watering. But the overall dinner and drinks? Disaster.

Giving a star because the drink was good. Food tasted bland and not Italian food by any means/tastes.Would give a zero if I could.

First time here and it was great. I came on a Saturday night and sat on the patio. We made a last minute reservation and the restaurant was able to accommodate, I would recommend calling the restaurant directly instead of using the apps because resy said no reservations until 8pm but the restaurant was able to accommodate us immediately at 6:45. It was windy but nice. The outside atmosphere was really great perfect for a date or just a nice dinner. We had the garlic bread and a salad as a stater and then we got the chicken parm and the rigatoni as our main. We then had the profiteroles to finish out the night. Everything was great. The service at times was very slow, like when getting drinks and having our waitress check us out at the end. Also the rigatoni had BIG chunks of pork in it, was not a fan of that but that's more of a personal preference thing. Will be back again, overall great neighborhood place.

Tarantino's is such a cozy Italian restaurant. We split the Buratta and requested they not add the prosciutto which tasted EXCELLENT?The crispy Brussel sprouts were FANTASTIC! Always great with the Prosecco?Wonderful all around dining experience! Highly recommended!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Very cute Italian style restaurant. Dim lit interior with nice decor and very nice outdoor seating with cute string lights. Our server was very kind and amicable. Food came out fast although it wasn't very busy. Would have like if the rigatoni was a bit more cooked but overall was great. Recommend the salad. New Zealand grape wine is also good for people who like something casual and smooth. Come here for a nicer - but not ridiculously expensive - time with friends or family :)
