Rather small for a target. Basics plus can be found but you will need a clerk to open each display for even the slightest items like dryer sheets. Came in handy in a pinch though.

I love my local Target in Hyde Park @1346 E. 53rd St. It is convenient for me to shop there after work as well as being close to where I live. I pick up my prescriptions from the CVS at this store & have only good things to say about both the pharmacist(s) & the service that they provide. It also serves the U. of C. college students well with budget priced items for their dorms & apartment life in Hyde Park. Much needed & appreciated in this community.

The store is a small community store and the customer service is poor. They follow people around as if they’re going to steal. Those girls are pathetic I don’t like shopping where I feel uncomfortable. They all know of me when I go to that particular store. I probably won’t be shopping there anymore because I spend way too much money to be treated like a criminal. I definitely will be going to another target and take the money out of the community due to poor customer service.

Went to this target 1/20 around 9:45-10:30am and felt racially profiled by an employee. When I arrived to the store there was a young tall black guy with braids that was standing by the door. He was working and overseeing the self - check out area. I did my shopping and as I ( the only black woman at the check out at the time) approached to the self check out lane he came and stood LITERALLY RIGHT behind me. Once I was done and paid for my items he then moved and went back to standing towards the carts/doors. I can not explain the feeling I felt. I was hurt and I will never spend my money at this target again. I rarely come here I NEVER STOLE anything from this store and for him to do his job without atleast trying to be discreet really just made me feel bad inside. If the things I was purchasing wasn’t a MUST. I would’ve left it there and walked out. I understand that there needs to be a loss prevention system in place but the manager on duty needs to train their employees on a way to do it that is not noticeable especially since over never done stole or tried to steal anything. I felt humiliated and uncomfortable. I would never come back here again even though this is my neighborhood target.

Recently went in to buy a charger from the electronics area, and I looked around to see if someone was unlocking items in that designated area. I see a young lady w/ small sized braids, glasses, red target shirt and is short, and I asked her “Do you know who’s unlocking items in this area.” She proceeds to ignore me, and goes over to the case to unlock, bro retrieve something for her pick up order she’s doing. I assume she cannot hear me so, I ask again. “Is there anybody working in this area, that can unlock the case for me.” Still ignoring me, finally says “I heard you the first time.” While she’s unlocking/locking the case I’m trying to get something out of. I says “Right I’m asking again, because you’re locking up the case I’m trying to retrieve something from.” She allows me to get something from the case by reopening it , speed walks to the register with the item, because she doesn’t want to walk near me. lol Proceeds to tell the register people “I keep getting stopped by these rude ass customers every time I try to complete a task.” Target let’s not forget customer service first… simple “Yes, I can help you in this area, just give me a second.” Let’s not forget also that a lot of people working, have or still do work in customer service everyday. Communication is key.

I've had a couple particularly good experiences shopping at various Targets that resolved fairly emergency situations. This is the Target that sold me the equipment I needed to fix my internet, so that I could finish onboarding on the first day of my highest-paying job so far. This was a few months ago, and I remember the frantic panic more than I remember the details, but I'm pretty sure I checked a few other stores first before resigning myself to just getting fired on my first day if I couldn't find the equipment I needed at Target.

Pharmacist Mr Moses Dunson an excellent person.
Very professional and also suggested me for another vaccine I was due for by going out of his way. We need more people like him among us.

If you need something in particular, you may be able to find it at this location. I would call this a satellite store. I like that the store is small, but I didn't find the main item that I was looking for but did buy something that wasn't planned.

Even though sometimes it could stock grocery products more often, I still recommend this Target. Staff is friendly and store is clean. Prices are good. I go at least once a week (this week I've gone 3 times). Rest of the store is well stocked and maintained.
