Shame its taken me so long to leave a review but I was a volunteer here a handful or so years ago and can not say enough good things about this spot. Staff was always friendly and they genuinely care about the people who walk through the door.Great community resource!

Great concept to help people learn how to repair and fix their own bikes but unfortunately not a friendly atmosphere. Bill (I think was his name) in particular is quite belittling saying things like "here, move over, let me do it for you since you obviously don't know that the hell you're doing" or "there's this thing called Google and there's these videos where you can learn to do this...", etc. He didn't say much but what did come out of his mouth was intentionally hurtful. There's no need to be out right cruel and displaying your ego and know how as if it's a power thing, especially when it's someone's first time in the shop and first time working on a bike! (He was cruel to me as well as everyone else in the shop)Chicago needs a friendlier community bike place preferably in a safer neighborhood.

This place is a Godsend to the neighborhood! I came in and even though there was a mixup with the dates Tibby was so kind and able to squeeze me in and teach me how to install my 16" tire and tube on my double stroller. I also got a used bike tire here for an amazing price. Thank you Recyclery team! You guys are the best!

very strange shop, rancid vibes. claims to be trans, queer, and gender non-conforming friendly but misgendered by friend AT LEAST 20 times in 5 mins.staff was super condescending and rude to my friend, and insisted on ppintlessly checking that THEIR bike which they literally bought and built themselves was, compatible with 700cc wheels. would not come back again. worst experience I have ever had with a bike shop. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE TRANS, ENBY, OR GNC THEY ARE NOT A SAFE SPACE FOR YOU

This place is awesome ?, wished that they would have been around when I was much younger, God knows how much money I'd spent over the years on basic bike repairs. This place does not only sell you the part's that you need, they also teach/show you how to replace it yourself. And they have all the tools you'll need to work with. What more can I say about this place. Check it out for yourself

Great place to get a bike at an affordable price point. If you are looking for something specific, they make not have it available. However, if you are just looking to get a bike for a kid or to have one, this is a great way to get a bike that is already tuned and ready to ride at an affordable price point (also a great way to avoid Facebook marketplace or some online purchase where you might get a questionable quality bike that is not tuned). Will get my kid her upgraded bike here, walked away today with a $155 Vintage (1960s) Schwinn suburban cruiser.

This is a great organization. I have donated 5 bikes and lots of accessories to them. They do a great job of spreading the love of biking to a wide range of people.

Amazing spot to have in chicago! I bought a bike from them which is my all- around bike: It was a great deal on a high quality bike converted to something more comfortable for me.They do so much good for many communities on the north side! Buy a bike, fix your bike, donate, support them in any you're able.

Good bikes, at good prices, supporting good causes. The process of picking up my bike was super straightforward, and after a few minor adjustments, I was out the door and riding.

What a great place! I bought a trek 850 mountain bike online. They did a great job fixing it up and it rides great. Not bad for $125. I'll be giving them my business as long as they are in business.
