Love this place. Al though part of Marriot, they worked VERY HARD to keep it looking like an old timey office building.

The shower sucks, the water pressure is bad. Their cleaning is suspect, found a fake eyelashes folded up in my clean towel, gross, what else is in there I can’t see? There was a lot of noise in the room from the train and the crappy local band playing at the venue across the street. Valet was expensive, drinks were mid at the bars. I donno, the old building looked nice but everything else was marginal enough to be forgettable, neither bad nor good enough to comment on. Will not be back, not enough good to make up for the annoyances.

Booked last minute for a work trip and was pleasantly surprised! The photos made it look like a standard modern Marriott, but the art deco style gives the place a lot of charm. Full café downstairs, rooftop bar with great views, super nice staff, free drinks in the fridge, and free HBO streaming.
If you’re sensitive to noise, the train and Subterranean can get a little loud, but they provide white-noise machines. The neighborhood has tons of walkable restaurants and markets. I also loved the electric blackout blinds, dimmable lights everywhere, and my amazing corner room. Highly recommend!

We waited 35 minutes for our drinks and a cheese plate, even though the restaurant was not busy. This wait time is unbelievable. Very disappointed with the service.

My fiancé and I were on the hunt for the perfect venue (The Hall) to celebrate our engagement and The Robey's staff and event coordinator made it an absolute dream come true.
Jillian - our main point of contact and event coordinator - went above and beyond to make sure our vision came to life. She made sure to put so much care into our celebration and never made us feel like we were asking for too much. Everything that we asked for - she made it happen. She was such a pleasure to work with and The Robey is so incredibly lucky to have such a caring, responsive, and kind person like Jillian to be a part of their team. We are so thankful to her for allowing our special night be such an unforgettable one.
In addition, the staff for our event was just as kind, considerate, and a joy to be a part of our celebration. They were beyond kind to me and all my guests and it made the biggest difference in having such lovely people staff our event. I really cannot express enough how grateful my fiancé are to have had such a wonderful staff be a part of our joyous night.
The food, event space, staff, and accomodations were an absolute 10/10. Thank you Jillian and The Robey team!

★★★★★ 5-Star Review for The Robey Hotel — Chicago Wedding Venue
As a wedding photographer, I’ve had the chance to capture weddings all over Chicago — but The Robey stands out as one of the most charming and versatile venues in the city. I recently photographed a small, intimate celebration for Ty and Robin here, and it couldn’t have been more perfect.
The Robey has this incredible blend of modern design and vintage character — every space feels intentional and full of warmth. For couples planning an intimate wedding or elopement, it’s the ideal setting: refined, romantic, and filled with natural light.
The rooftop views are absolutely breathtaking — easily one of my favorite spots in the city for golden hour portraits. You can see the skyline stretch in every direction, creating that cinematic Chicago feel that couples love.
If you’re looking for a wedding venue that feels effortlessly stylish and personal, The Robey is a dream. From its cozy interiors to its stunning rooftop, it offers everything you need for a wedding day that feels both elevated and authentically you.
