Tom was extremely patient and understanding as I tried to articulate my auto issues with my limited automotive knowledge/vocabulary. Throughout the day I was kept abreast of what work my vehicle needed, what was priority versus what can be done later, what the cost(s) would be, and the general timeframe of completion. He took the time to explain things to me and did not make me feel like I was being gaslit or upsold on any services, parts or products. Providing trustworthy and honest customer service seems to be top priority! On top of all of this, their prices were very fair and affordable. My drive home was the quietest, smoothest, and most stable that it’s been in weeks! “I brought my sons 2019 Toyota Camry after a different shop did a bad job and cause damage to the transmission. I stay in Atlanta, GA and didn't know any shop in Chicago so we went online to look for one. We were so blessed to find Tramcar Transmission Shop. They responded immediately. I spoke to Junior and he was amazing, I explained what happen and he assured me they would do everything they could to fix the issue. He knew I wasn't in Chicago and it was my sons car and he went the extra mile to make me feel my sons car was in good hands. They fixed the issue and the car runs great! My only regret was not bringing the car to them sooner! Absolutely recommend them.”
“I purchased a vehicle from out of state and had Midwest Performance do a Pre-Purchase Inspection on my behalf since I didn't have the ability to see the car in person prior to buying it.
The shop provided a very thorough inspection with pictures of the exterior and interior including close ups of any damage they found. They even included brake pad/rotor life, tire tread, and fluid levels. The inspection gave me all the information I needed, providing peace of mind that I was making an informed decision with my purchase.

“Wonderful shop on the northside!! Was recommended to go here from friends and family who highly praise Mike as an honest guy who just wants to keep the neighborhood moving! Fully agree with that statement after I came in with oil consumption issues. Mike knew what to recommend, worked with me within price and has an awesome warranty on work and parts. “I was in from out of town to visit a very sick friend. I suddenly had mysterious car problems.
They ultimately didn't handle the services I needed to get the problem fixed.
But they were very kind, helpful, and efficient. They clearly explained everything they did to the car and discovered about the problem.
They also wrote everything out so i could show the mechanic i had to transfer my car to for the engine work.
When I left they were very concerned about making sure i got to the other mechanic safely. They even asked me to call them when i got there so they would know I was ok.
I can't say enough kind things about the quality of service and the prices were reasonable.
Just a great place that really cares about the people as well as the cars!”
“Best auto shop I've been to. They are professional, and detailed. They give itemized receipts, and even explain what's wrong, what they need to do, and why if you ask. You can also decline work from them with no hard feelings, so it doesn't feel like they are making stuff up to scam you. Just look at the review score, and the quantity compared to other local owned shops - nothing in the world will please literally 100% of people, but 94% of all customers from internet reviews is *really* good. Work is always exceptional, and the owner is frequently around to any questions that come up. Have referred several friends to them (there's no referral program or kickback - I just refer good services to those know), and my family has gone for years.”

He found replacement engine within 24 hours, gave me a fair estimate, completed the work in less than a week, and even included a warranty--he just asked that I bring it back for an oil check after 1000 miles. His honesty, professionalism, and detailed explanations made all the difference.
