Has most everything you might need for small projects. Super helpful and knowledgeable staff. Unlike HD or Lowes, you can actually find someone to help you fairly quickly. I should really come here more often.

I'm new to the area and in the process of painting, and choosing color/s proved to be more time consuming and stressful than I'd thought. I've therefore been to the West Loop JC Licht store several times in the last couple of weeks, and everyone I've met has been super knowledgeable and helpful.
Today while purchasing several gallons of paint, I received especially amazing service from Tad. Tad was very knowledgeable about color (and color altering like darkening); he patiently answered all of my questions and helped me make an informed paint decision. Tad also helped make my purchase more affordable by honoring the discount special I was supposed to have received through my previous review regarding this store. Ted mad me feel like a really valued client, and I appreciate his extra efforts and the kindness he showed me!
I highly recommend the True Value/ JC Licht store in the West Loop. It's a great store with great staff!!

Gold standard for local hardware stores. Very curated by someone who does all types of work.
Denise knows where everything is possibly quickly, today I went in for five things for five different projects and she was extremely helpful.
I also appreciate that they curate which products they carry, most stuff in the store is high-quality and they have arranged of Goode stuff, all the way to the absolute best industry standard items

Ariann was an absolute lifesaver! I can be really indecisive when it comes to choosing paint colors, but she made the process so much easier. She listened to what I wanted, walked me through different options, and helped me land on the perfect colors. Her eye for design and patience made all the difference. If you’re feeling overwhelmed with paint choices, definitely ask for Ariann—she’s amazing!

This store exceeds expectations-especially with regard to customer service and selection of items. The staff are polite and go out of their way to be helpful! I'll take coming here over the other big brand home improvement stores any day.

I’m giving this 5 stars because everyone is super helpful and nice there.
With that said, I probably won’t be going back. It’s annoying to need something that’s $20 or less and having to track someone down because it’s locked up. I can just same day it on Amazon without that extra hassle.
