I can see why this store is often empty. My husband and I just left there. I’ve never felt welcomed in Mt. Greenwood as a black person but I’ve learned to overlook it. Going to Chicago True Value Hardware for the first time was the most dismissive and unwelcoming experience. Just put a sign on the door NO BLACKS WELCOME.

True Value has been here forever. It is clean and the staff is friendly. They pretty much have everything you need and they know what they are talking about. Don’t hesitate to ask a question if you don’t know what to buy.

They was friendly and very helpful,as I was getting checked out I went and was walking out the door as the cashier said excuse me sir you forgot your change,that showed high integrity on not only his part but also on the owner of Chicago True Value Hardware now that is why from now on in going to show with them .....Hats off to the whole staff!!! I don't know if they are very friendly or racist, I just arrived and they immediately asked me if they could help me. They didn't even give me the freedom to go in and see. ? Would you think it was some living evil?
